mixed feelings. When we first moved to St. Louis friends told us about the Loop and Fitz's. I think it is an interesting atmosphere. We have been there several times now. Service is good, not amazing but good enough. Our friend usually asks to substitute fries with a vegetable weird enough once we were told this is not possible. That day everything hit on us. we had to return her food because all her meat (i believe it was beef tips? ) was inedible, almost spoiled. All other food was good. i like their Parmesan chicken a lot. That's the only thing i am eating there now. All together it is ok. Food quality is sadly not constant quality as well as the guest service.

Memorable Toasted Ravioli!. First visit to Fitz's was in Kansas City when they still had one there. Ran across the one in St. Louis by accident...what a nice surprise. Good portions, lots of variety, root beer is top notch...try all the flavors though, they're all good. Have a teenager and an under 10 kiddlin, they both liked the place as well...in fact we came back two days later to try some other menu items that we didn't get the first time...the toasted ravioli is St. Louis specialty! In a fun shopping area, too...nice walking tour of the area.

I was disappointed. We had friends from out of town stop in St Louis for dinner... I picked Fitz's because it was supposed to family friendly (our friends have a very well behaved 2 year old) and it was in the Loop. Our server was horrible and the food wasn't great (my food was cold... it had obviously been sitting out for awhile--I guess while they finished cooking our tables food). She rolled her eyes at tables, our root beer was hot (the mugs felt like they had just been pulled from the dishwasher)--when we mentioned that the root beer was really warm our server actually (very sarcastically) said, "What do you want me to do about it?" We were definitely treated like we were an annoyance. She was only nice when it came time for us to pay the bill and then she acted like our best friend. I was embarrassed that I suggested Fitz's. My husband said his previous experiences (from a couple of years ago) were nothing like this and he remembered the food being good... so maybe we came on a bad night.

Also, we were seated outside... and birds kept pooping on everything-- you could hear it hitting the umbrellas and patio (and it looked like the patio hadn't been sprayed down in awhile)--I understand that it is an "outdoor eating risk" but it was still gross.

Fun and unique place to visit. I never hung out in the Loop until I moved closer to the area, but it is definitely an interesting place to hang out in. I recommend going to Fitz's in the early evening, and then afterwards, walk around in the Loop and visit some of the unique stores. If nothing else, it is fun to just people watch. I have been to Fitz's several times, and it is a nice change of pace. Only once was I able to watch them bottle Fitz's while I ate, and it was really neat! If you dont want to eat there, try one of their root beer floats! They are amazing!!

The brew of choice here is root beer, accompanied by meaty, satisfying comfort food.. In Short
Fitz's is a different sort of microbrewery--it brews root beer, made from a 1947 formula that includes roots, herbs, bark and cane sugar. Patrons watch Fitz's root beer, orange pop and cream soda being brewed, bottled and labeled on site through a towering glass wall in the two-story dining room. Cheese-heavy, satisfying dishes include the Elvis burger, topped with coleslaw and barbecue sauce, or a Milan pizza made with sweet roasted-garlic tomato sauce.
