BAD SERVICE!. I reserved the back area of the restaurant on Jan 13 for a dinner party I had plan to host on Jan 21, this was the worst thing I could have done when i arrived on the 21st my reservation was not on the books I had 10 pp with me waiting to be seated. once seated we wait an hour before the area i reserved was available. After speaking with the manager during the 1 hour of being seated no one came to the table and offer water or menus once in the reserved area the waitress immediately informed us that there was no gator, ribs, chicken, spinach dip, and no dessert by this time I had 10 more ppl to join my party. As the night moved on the waitress became rude and unprofessional. as the time came to cash out she had placed other diners in my party food & drinks on the wrong person's tab & when the diners tried to help her correct the problem she yelled at them and being engaging in a dispute with my party she then stormed from the area & went & got the police at the front entrance she accused my party of trying to "fight" her after all the confusion and lies being told my party and I decided to leave. I did speak with manager she apologized and said she would contact me regarding the waitress and the service we received.
Out of food!. We went on a Thursday around 5 pm. Guess what, No food. We had a Groupon for a three course meal. We tried to start off with Gator. Out of Gator. Tried to order crab cakes. Out of crab cakes. Tried to order an entree Crab Cavatelli.....out of that too! Settled for Jambalya...they didn't tell us they were out of Andulle Sausage, not one piece in the dish. When we said something the waiter just asked what we wanted for dessert. Here we go again........two Red Velvet Cakes. The waiter came back....we only have one piece of Red Veltvet Cake.......he finally said, "It's the end of the week." Ok, how about a brownie, out of that, cheesecake? Out of that.........we settled for chocolate pie. What food we got was tasty but it wasn't what we wanted, we were just being polite and settling for something else. The waiter catered to the one other table behind us but ignored us for the most part. We thought because we had a Groupon. We won't go back but if you're thinking of going, I'd call first and ask if they have any food! Seriously. P.S. Groupon gave us a full refund so I will continue to us Groupons and hope for better experiences than this last one. It was terrible. I've never been to a restaurant that was out of that much food. Pretty soon they'll be out of busines.
They dont have food!!!!!!!. My girlfriend and I wanted to try something different, and the blues and southern food sounded like a lot of fun. So we made the 35 minute trip from O’Fallon, quite a drive to go to a place that we have never been before. We arrived around 6:30pm on a Friday night, and we were seated right away. But after 20 minutes we were still waiting to get drinks. Though this was kind of odd, but I wanted to try some of the southern food I use to love when I lived in New Orleans.”I should have left right then though”. We found this Place on GROUPON so we told the waiter, and he told us what we could order. My girlfriend order jambalaya with Andouille sausage and I order red beans and rice. The water came back and said they were out of red beans and rice. So I ordered the Steak sandwich. He came back again and said they were out of steak sandwiches, so I ordered some of there so called famous BBQ. He came back again and said they were out of the BBQ also. So I ordered a strip steak. Guess what out of that also. So now I have driven 35 miles to order a cheese burger. By now the music was getting ready to play and I was looking forward to so Blues and Jazz and the band was pretty good. Why the place was out of so much food on a Friday night I don’t know. But I though the worse was behind us, then the bill came. The waiter had charged us for the whole meal and did not take the GOUPON discount off. I told him about it and he made the correction right away and I gave him my credit card. When the receipt came it was for the whole bill again. So I got up and went to find the MG. I went to the bar and they said they don’t have a MG. So I told them what has happened and they said they would get my waiter. He corrected the bill and I asked for a receipt that he has canceled the other charge I was told that he cannot do that. So if you are thinking that this would be a fun place to go. Just Bring cash and don’t order food. Because they can open beer, make Ice Tea, and schedule a band. But making food and getting your check correct is not on their list. By the way my girl friends food was the worse version of jambalaya I have ever seen, also I don’t think they know what Andouille sausage is.
i selected new menu as my headline mainly because i love resturants that try new things on a regular.. if you click on view menue above this post IT IS WRONG. right now it is alot of southern cooking cajun style. gator scewers,jumbalya,shrimp and grits, melt in your mouth ribs. and so much more.
This lounge is a great place to be. they like to try new dishes all the time while everything is made in house. The service is amazing very friendly and good conversations as well as speed. The music style changes every night from jam bands to jazz to soul.. and more. even dj's spinning after 11pm or so. i would definently recommend this place to a friend going to dinner or looking for a party spot.
I liked this club until I was robbed. THe worst of any city.
This is a local, music place. Too bad it's attracting thugs...

What a joke. So the Delmar Lounge is hosting an event to raise money to help a deadbeat dad get out of JAIL......WTF I really think that is disgraceful

I had like the Delmar lounge until I went there with a couple of friends. I had an out of state ID which they rejected because it didn't have a hologram. It was an ID that wasn't supposed to have a hologram, I was 25 at the time. After we argued with the owner about his rejection of the ID (2 mins) he claimed to call the cops and told us he could do anything he wanted to us. He then without provocation punched my friend in the face. A cop came and proceeded to handcuff us against the side of the building. We asked the cop what we were being arrested for and the only possible answer was being punched in the face. After 45 minutes of holding us at the side of the lounge the cop let us go because he knew that he had no grounds to arrest or hold us.
I haven't been back in 3.5 years.
Great spot to hit up as the night goes on. This place is one of the best in the Loop and st.louis in general. It has a great atmosphere. I was worried at first because i had heard a few reviews say that the service behind the bar was not very good but I found it to be excellent. The staff moved quick and seemed always eager to serve. The highlight of the place for me though was the music. I keep reading that Jazz was played in the early part of the evening which is excellent but in the night, after 11 or so, 2 DJ's spinned until the place closed. They played some great music, not techno but just a great mix, everything from great rock classics to some smooth beats by "A tribe called quest". Overall this is a great place and I look forward to a return.
A preeminent jazz club--with good food..
A swank, smoky supper club with a black-and-maroon motif, the Delmar is one of the nicest joints in town. Seating can be a problem--even if you secure a table early, half your party will have its backs to the stage. But it's worth a little pain in the neck because the Delmar books some of St. Louis' most capable players. If you're a jazz fan hunting for the real stuff--music that's inspired, not paint-by-numbers rehash--this is the place.
The core dishes are the same year-round, but Chef Jimmy Russell gets creative with seasonal soups and daily specials. His white-bean and andouille-sausage soup is a lusty stew of cannellini beans, spicy smoked pork sausage, diced celery, shredded carrots, onions and garlic. Or try Russell's overstuffed pillows of portobello ravioli blanketed with peppery pesto cream sauce.
$20 meal. The $20 meal before 6 (or 7...I don't remember) is a great value. You get an entree & your choice of soup or salad and dessert. All four entrees we tried were excellent.
