Past it's prime. Kobe used to be our favorite restaurant and now we will never go back. The portions have shrunk greatly over the years. When the chef finished cooking the meal, the waitress brought out containers for take home. They wanted to wrap up our food when we weren't even done. They brought out our check and we wanted to order their pineapple desert for my wife's birthday. They felt we ate enough I guess. We left the restaurant hungry. Kobe just isn't worth the money anymore.
Less than I expected. Yes, Japanese Steakhouses are entertaining, it adds more to the dinning experience, however it does not make the complete experience. We arived to find every table but one with multiple children. We were looking for a little more romance and ambiance then what was offered. The service was prompt and courteous, but you always had the feeling that your time was limited and ten more people would be experiencing the same theme ride at your table 30 minutes later. It is a good experience for a first time or to expose your children to new tastes and culture, but not for anyone looking for a special night away. As for group dinning, we saw the staff try to fit 13 people at one table, but no one looked comfortable or able to fit their drinks on the table. There has to be a better balance.
Not really impressed.. It felt like a chain restaurant there. Not really anything special. But mostly; at the time I was there I was told that they did not serve sushi, which was a huge disappointment for me in a Japanese restaurant.
The Best!!. Absolutely the best food and great dining entertainment. The lunch specials and mini buffet is wonderful.
First time's a charm. My first jaunt to Kobe's was a memorable one indeed. Great saki, excellent steak and vegetables (I didn't like Zucchini until I came here), and the chef was very skilled and personable. Good impromptu humor too, nothing staged or set up so it seemed. We were fortunate not to have to sit with strangers, and as long as that trend holds, this will be one of my top choices to eat in the county.
just what i hoped for. went to kobe's for our anniversary dinner and it was a great experience. i guess our chef could have been more flashy, but what did i care - the steak and lobster were awesome, as was the fried rice and shrimp appetizer. it was a full meal and moderately priced as well. we were in and out in about an hour and never felt rushed or unappreciated. plus, JD Drew sat at our table! It was a great experience all around.
Steak, Shrimp, and Show. Kobe Steak House of Japan combines excellent food with the entertainment of tableside cooking. The chefs possess not only incredible culinary skills, but fine showmanship in their prepatation and presentation. At dinner, you start off with a bowl of miso soup, and then a salad with ginger dressing. In addition to steak, you can also have chicken and shrimp as well. The vegatables and rice that are also prepared tableside are wonderfully flavourful. The only drawback is that it can take sometime to get to eat at dinnertime; the restaurant likes to fill up the table before serving anyone. Lunch is much faster.
