Cold, overpriced buffet..... The selection was ok, but every item on the buffet was cold - even under the lamps. The price was also high compared to others in the area. Service was typical - drinks brought out and plates picked up during the meal. But there was no check back to see if we needed anything. And what is this with no knives being provided; certainly some of the dishes required a knife.

ONE GREAT PLACE TO EAT #1. RIVERFRONT TIMES voters have voted not only BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT but BEST BUFFET more than once. Lee and Jenny are wonderful people and will make you feel at home, sometimes Jenny is misunderstood by those that do not know her, but she is is warm and caring person.

The Hot Sour Soup is great, as are the main entrees which include Shrimp, Chicken, Beef , Fish and Pork done in many different ways. The service is very good and you always will feel wecome, many times the owner Lee will visit your table and say HI.

We eat there often and always enjoy going back..

msmurphy. I have been eating at Happy China for 25 years and absolutely love it. I followed their restaurant from one location to another...just to eat their food. Not only is the food awesome, but the service is great and the owners are wonderful people. I eat there once a week and there's not a time when the owner doesn't personally know his clientele-I would chalk this up to REPEAT business, awesome food and good customer service. A MUST TRY!!!!!

Happy China, I love it. The food at Happy China is the best in St. Louis. Since it has opened, I have always enjoyed my experience at Happy China. The food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. It has a distinctive taste unlike any other Chinese restaurant. The green beans are the best and Lee's garlic chicken is to die for. He makes a special dish just for me with a lobster sauce that is unsurpassed. Lee and Jenny make special dishes for many people, not just for me.

You pay for what you get and if you want good food, it costs. Otherwise, you can always go to some fast food chain.

If you truly want to eat fresh authentic Chinese food, this is the place to visit.

best Chinese food around. I have to say that some of the reviews I have read must be from competators, either that or they wouldn't know good food when they ate it...I have been eating at Happy China since they opened and I can tell you that there are no finer people in the world that Lee and Jenny Pa..I have never have bad service at Happy China and have never been treated with anything but the greatest respect...for the last five years I have helped Lee with his free meals that he gives out at Christmas by working in his kitchen..Lee has been doing it for 20 years. Three years ago Lee help feed 16,000 people at the Geason family Christmas. I wonder what these people that wrote this review do for the less fortunate, nothing i'll bet,,,One of the reveiws said that they were chased ot the door asking for a tip..thats bull.. In that reveiw they stated that the service was good..so does that mean they got good service but did not leave a tip...thells you what kind of people they are...If you like good Chinese food try it for yourself..I don't think you will be disappointed

Best Chinese Experience By Far. After reading some of the reviews about Happy China I'm left somewhat confused.

I have visited Happy China (Creve Coeur) for over 20 years, and not had a bad experience. I have always found the food to be very fresh and delicious. The shrimp and chicken dishes are outstanding. I have been around long enough to know there are some people that can't be pleased even if the food is free.

Lee and his wife Jenny (owners) strive to please their customers. I have never been chased for a tip, or even been ask for one.

Lee and his wife donated at least 5,000 meals this past Thanksgiving and Christmas for the homeless.

They are good christian people. You will find their place open on Sunday but you won't find Lee and Jenny there.

Because every Sunday they are at their church.

If you should have a problem with one of the 30 plus different foods offered just let Lee know, it will be resolved.

Again based on my 20 plus years dining there I have to wonder if some of these reviews just might be offered by some of Happy China's competitors.

So I (Gus Loness) strongly recommend this restaurant.

Not A Very "Happy China" Experience.. Never Again. Some of the food was OK but most of it was dried up, over cooked, or just plain nasty. The only nice thing about this place is the Mr. Owner. He comes around and talks to people and tries to have a conversation. He walks around trying to fill you up with his pot full of crazy rice. I agree with the comment about the women that works the cash register is very rude. I will say the Hispanic waiter crew was very good at there job. NO DESERT. Not worth the price. Will never go back.

U R Crazy if you think this place is good. Some of the food there is OK but most of it is just plain nasty. Dirty glasses and silverwear. The only nice thing about this place is the Mr. Owner. He comes around and talks to people and tries to have a conversation but his wife that works the cash register is the most rude person I ever saw and is so money hungry and tight she squeaks. She acts like we are there for her. I worked at a dealer where they took their vehicle for service(no, will not say where)and she was the most demanding lady and wanted everything for free. We hated it when we saw her drive up. Even if the place was nice and had great food I would NOT go there anymore because of her. I say RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY.

Rude Lady!!. this chinese lady chasing us outside and asking for a tip..said we forgot to tip..there's 10 of us eating for lunch and it's my friends baby shower..we handly give the tip to our very nice mexican waiter, because he deserved it and happy w/ his service..i guess this lady thinks that we should gave her the tip....how rude!!! I've worked in restaurant business for 18 yrs. and we are not suppose to chase customer for tips outside, it's not only being rude but..your life could be in danger once your outside the restaurant.. Never plan to go back in this place AGAIN...
