Great Hairstylist- Will be back!. I do not live in St. Louis, but my boyfriend does and I needed my hair styled for an important event for his company. I'm not very good with hair and I didn't want to stress over it, so I decided to make an appointment with LeAnne (sorry if I spelled it wrong). I am very picky, so I was nervous going to a new salon. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did it perfectly, maybe better. It was quick, she was super friendly, and it was half the price of all other salons in the area. I will be moving to St. Louis within the next year and I will not hesitate to go back for more services. Everyone was friendly and the work I saw being done was top quality. Thanks again for the exceptional work! :)
not so good. I went here on the recommendation of a friend (she is fairly new in town and good a couple decent cuts here. I am here temprarily for a few months for my job and needed a cut.) Her hair looks pretty good. I, however, am with hellcat above in saying that I got exactly what I asked to NOT get, and could have done better myself with cheap child's scissors in my hotel room. Leann was sweet, and attempted to do what I wanted, but she does NOT have the skill and knowledge to do so. I'm not sure what "level" stylist she is, and though usually that would be important to me, I didn't ask, or see that listed on their website. I just knew she seemed to do a decent job with my friend's hair. She cut my hair by just cutting clumps here and there, on side is heavier than the other, and the layers are higher, and fall unnaturally. The different portions of the cut are disconnected with one another. And when she saw Iooked unhappy (though I was trying to be polite) she tried to 'fix' some of the 'heavy' spots by continuing to insist on just cutting cutting cutting more random clumps to 'break it up a bit', which came out very awkward. At one point I just wanted her to stop and I said "let me just keep it like this for a few days and see how it is, and if I want to change anything", but she insisted on trying to fix a couple more things. I wish I had a time machine and could have screamed 'stop!', but it's too late. I let her keep going. She doesn't even have a razor, and when she asked the stylist next to her if she had one, she said she didn't either. Although, personally, I'm not sure I would trust she would know how to use one well enough if she did have one. Maybe some day she will be skilled enough to do complex textured cuts, but right now, do NOT go to her if that's what you need. On the other hand, I do like the Aveda products, and this salon is CHEAP compared to what I'm used to in other cities. I guess I got what I paid for. Now I just need to find a place in town to 'rehab' and fix my hair!
Baddddd hair day. After reading some of the positive reviews I was astonished when others received alcohol and attention and great "this "and fabulous "that" and raved about this salon. Well, sorry to burst your bubble y'all, but the customer service was mediocre at Best and my client consultation was short and my stylist apparently did no LISTEN to ME because when we were finished I had to remind them to finish the back of my hair the way I wanted it. The back was cut exactly the way I asked it NOT to be cut. H-E-L-L-O! Also the finished style was, let's say, something I could do at home...Better. Sorry guys, you need more education on the technical side of things in your salon. Oops.
CURRENT Reviews - great place.
I have been going to Studio Branca for several years now -- and after reading the negative comments here, I just don't get it. I love this place. I walk in 15 minutes early, am greeted by name and given a glass of wine to relax from my work day. Carrie (stylist) pops up on time and takes me back, listens to my hair issues and we chatter away while she goes to work on fixing me up. The products they use are hair and earth friendly and smell wonderful, and the price is on track for a salon experience. I've never had trouble with the folks at the front desk -- everyone is always very social and smiley and ready to help me out. Some of the negative feedback is a few years old -- hope that doesn't change someone's mind from trying this studio out. I used my real, complete name here so that someone couldn't say this was a 'rigged' comment (placed by the studio). Awesome place.

I have been going to Studio Branca for almost five years. And yes, sadly, i have seen the atmosphere and customer service decline. However, there is one person i continue to see, and i must speak up for her!
I first visited because Traci was highly recommended to me for brow waxing. She is WONDERFUL. I decided to try her for a facial ~ absolutely FANTASTIC. Traci is attentive to her clients and task, holds a mature and professional demeanor, and is incredible talented. She is worth it!
Admittedly, the hair salon has been a completely contrary experience. I tried two different stylists and found both to be immature, self-absorbed, and yes: very sub-par results.....fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.
And yes, i have to agree, the receptionists leave much to be desired. I avoid dealing with them as much as possible by setting my next appt directly with Traci.
KEEP YOUR MONEY IN YOUR POCKET. This was my first (and LAST) time I walk into Studio Branca . First off, the grumpy receptionist treated me as if I was I was an annoyance when I arrived at my appointment. Then the "stylist" I got was not only rude, he was insulting and not a bit helpful. Matt needs some customer service training. He was so busy on his I-phhone texting about the next photo shoot. When I took my hair tie off, he said my hair was "at a hideous length." When I asked his opinion of whether I should get a layered cut or straight cut, he just replied, "I don't know! I'm not the one who's going to walk around with the hair cut!" When I asked if I could drink my coffee during the cut, he said, "Sure." But when I took a drink and held the cup in my lap, that rude hack grabbed it out my hand, plopped it on the counter and said, "I didn't know what I was saying Yes to. See what happens when you take a drink? Your head moves back and I won't be able to cut your hair." Fine, but did you have to just grab it out of my hand? And after all that, the cut was pretty pitiful. I had been growing my hair out for the past year, so it looked pretty awful before the hair cut. When he was done. I still had fly-aways and uneven lengths, and I was $56 poorer!
I get more compliments ....
on my cut, color and skin since I've become a client of the Branca salons. You know you have a great cut when you don't have to fuss with your hair to get the "look". Having lived in LA for many years I was extremely apprehensive about finding a salon and spa that I would love as much as my salon in LA. Hands down Branca was the most recommended hot spot to visit for all my salon spa services ... and I know why. I am always last minute with booking services so I have seen several different folks for my hair and skincare ... I have been extremely pleased with each one.
Quality hair care. I just wanted to recommend Andie for haircuts. I've been with her for 3 years now, and she's definitely worth it. Be specific in describing what you want, and she delivers. I also don't think that she's pushy at all about the product. A few visits ago I actually wanted to buy stuff though, and she was knowledgeable about answering my questions and made some good recommendations.
Worst salon experience ever--do not waste your money!. Although this salon may have received some nice recommendations, I would assume they were written by their own stylists or by a snooty bunch of regulars that receive good service while others are treated like dirt. This salon does nothing to make new customers feel welcome or as if they matter. I walked out, having paid a fortune, for a very average haircut and not so special color. The entire time, I felt as if I was bothering the sylist and the people at the front desk give new meaning to the term stuck up. Even if they lowered their prices, I would never go back nor would I recommend this salon. It doesn't seem this place recognizes the importance of treating new clients well. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
VERY SNOOTY ESTABLISHMENT.
First off, my appt. was not scheduled right. My stylist was a full hour behind. The hair cut was aweful, this girl had no idea what she was doing. I felt very pressured to buy products that I did not want. The front desk was snooty towards me as well as every other staff member that passed me, while I sat on the bench for over an hour waiting to get my hair butchered!
THE WHOLE EXPIERENCE WAS HORRIABLE...SHE HAD THE NERVE TO ASK ME TO BOOK MY NEXT APPT......UHHGG
