The Scene
The simple, sleek interior and rows of shiny black stations belie the professionalism you'll encounter here. The stacks of Aveda products will probably alert you to the fact that this is an Aveda concept salon, which means the staff is very well trained. Opened in 1989, Studio Branca has emerged as one of St. Louis' finest spas.
The Services
This is a full-service salon and spa, offering haircuts and coloring as well as the standard array of nail, makeup, skin and body treatments. Unlike most day spas, Studio Branca attracts a steady clientele for its haircuts alone. Perhaps it's got something to do with those tension-relieving scalp massages. Brides come in droves, too, for both hair and makeup. The stellar salon services shouldn't overshadow the spa, though. One of the more unusual services is the Himalayan rejuvenation treatment. Based on ancient Ayurvedic principles, the treatment includes an aromatherapy steam bath, a full-body exfoliation, a sinus cleansing and a massage.

First off, my appt. was not scheduled right. My stylist was a full hour behind. The hair cut was aweful, this girl had no idea what she was doing. I felt very pressured to buy products that I did not want. The front desk was snooty towards me as well as every other staff member that passed me, while I sat on the bench for over an hour waiting to get my hair butchered! THE WHOLE EXPIERENCE WAS HORRIABLE...SHE HAD THE NERVE TO ASK ME TO BOOK MY NEXT APPT......UHHGG

I went to this salon with high expectations but was disappointed about the entire experience. The people did not make me feel welcome and the sylist was horribly unattentive. She was literally preparing for her next appointment by picking out swatches of color and consulting with other employees. I'm sitting in the chair and she's barely concerned with me and is asking for hairbooks etc., to get ready for her next booking. The entire time I was there, she made me feel as if she was bothered by me and did not seem interested at all in making my time or the end result positive. Ultimately, my haircut and highlight were not disastrous, but not special enough to warrant the EXHORBITANT cost I paid. It was my first and last time to go there. They obviously don't care about securing new customers.
