Tom Fazio, the hottest course designer in America during the '90s, designed the Bluffs. Opened in 1995, the Bluffs plays as a par-71, but you can choose from five tees to change the length from 5,200 yards to 7,047 yards. Fazio designed this with the average golfer in mind: the course is long and carved out of the woods, which will gobble up errant tee shots, but the fairways are sloped and level to keep balls in play.
Locale
The course also keeps you moving: a round takes about four hours. Located in St. Charles, it's only five minutes across the Missouri River from St. Louis County. The course is close to the highway, but you won't notice; the place is so pastoral there are times you'll have to play through grazing deer.

The Bluffs is a nice course with a variety of elevations and shots. Most holes were fair from the middle tees for a high handicapper. Priced in the premium range.
