Do not go to Six Flags unless you don't care about how much money you will spend!. I do not recommend going to this Six Flags, especially during Fright Fest. We went at the beginning of the summer and it was great, absolutely no lines in any of the rides, and we closed down the park. We went last weekend and it was awful. Every single ride was at least an hour to an hour and a half wait in line, half of the rides cost extra money, almost all of the "haunted" events cost extra money, some of the places to eat were not open, and the ones that were open were ridiculously slow. We ate at the Mooselodge, and the line was out the door, they had 3 registers, but only one employee working one, she was older and extremely unaffected by how many people were in line waiting. We probably waited in line just to order our food for about 45 minutes. The food was extremely expensive, it was $10.99 for a chicken sandwich and fries, and no drink was included. The employees were not friendly or helpfull, I noticed that none of them seemed to hurry in any way, and at times, they seemed to chit chat betweeen each other instead of doing their job. All in all, it really sucked! We will never go back for Fright Fest!
Great for coaster lovers!.
Six Flags St. Louis is an amazing theme park with awesome rides for pepole who love roller coasters like i do. There are many reviews on here saying how its "expensive" but trust me, there are good ways to save.
1. Even if you plan to go even more than 1 time, BUY A SEASON PASS
= You don't have to wait in line to buy tickets
= After one day's ticket it only costs $40 to upgrade
= It pays for itself in less that two visits.
= With every thing you purchase at the parks you automatically get 15% off.
= Buy season parking it will be well worth it.
= Your season pass comes with $300 worth of coupons.
= Your pass is valuable at any park that has the Six Flags name.
= Plus you get much much more...
= Buy a 2008 cup and the first day you buy it you get unlimited free refills, and then after you get 99c refills
not for value-seeking families. My husband and I took my sister and her kids when they were visiting from MI. While my 16-yr-old niece is a coaster NUT and can go all day, my 13-yr-old nephew has a relatively weak stomach and can only go on certain kinds of coasters, and that only every 30-45 minutes. While waiting for stomach to settle, looked for other things to do, but most non-coasters cost more. No info on website (that I could find) about what rides are NOT included in admission price, and there are a LOT. Had a hard time keeping nephew entertained. And because they're now searching bags when you enter, you really can't take in food, so you're forced to pay outrageious food prices: $3.25 water, $5.99 "large" soda (looks like a medium elsewhere) + $2 refills, etc. And no straw! Disney World is a better value!
Bring MONEY!!!. Very expensive! At least half the rides cost extra money, the food is expensive, and a bottle of water is $3!!! Take the $400 you will spend, and spend a weekend somewhere else!
Good Family Fun. You get to use both parks (rides and waterpark) for one price. Food is very expensive, if you are looking for a way to save, pack a cooler and blanket for lunch and take a break from the park. Food can not be brought in except for medical conditions, bags are searched.
When it's hot and sticky, cool off on water rides or whip around on roller coasters at this amusement park..
Overview
Expect mobs of teenagers and young families on summer days. Hurricane Harbor, a 12-acre water park that's a destination itself, is free with your Six Flags admission. Along with rides, thrill seekers will find food stands, shops, variety shows and kiddie rides. Looney Tunes Town is a fun section of the park just for kids.
The Experience
The park's biggest thrill ride, the Boss, is a 5,051-foot-long wooden roller coaster that's one of the country's best. Some other standout attractions include Mr. Freeze, which blasts passengers to speeds up to 70mph, and Batman the Ride, a looping roller coaster that twists and twirls its riders through shocking high-speed turns and upside-down spins. Traditionalists will want to hit the Screamin' Eagle, Colossus, the Moon Antique Cars and the Log Flume.
bring a lot of $!.
You have pay for almost every thing if you don't have a season pass or cupons for stuff. You have to pay for parking, to get in, food, and some rides. If you know you are going to go more then once you should definetly buy a season pass it will save you alot more. You can always find a 10 or 12 dollar off cupon though.
when you get into the park and you really want to go to one ride go to it first so the lines are not so long.
ok once in awhile. well, its expensive. if you buy a season pass its a better deal. that way if you go more than once its worth it. also, it costs to park. the food inside is expensive, even the McDonalds. So last time, we brought a cooler and had a picnic in the shade in the parking lot. Its always HOT. the lines are really long for some things; like the water park. not for the rides but just to get IN the water park. Seriously. and it moves pretty slow. then u get inside and wait in lines again. u probably will have to rent a locker and a tube. more $$$. fright fest is i guess cool to kids. we went once. we have some cool rollercoasters.
