2004 is the 100th anniversary of this magnificent urban park, a beautiful remnant of the World's Fair, and you really should check it out for yourself. I'm old enough to remember operettas at the Muny, riding my horse on trails that are now smoothly paved for wheeled users, screaming down Art Hill on the inverted hood of a '54 Chevy, seeing the monkey/pony show at the Zoo, riding an elephant there named Miss Jim, boatrides, ice skating, golf, matches at the Dwight Davis tennis courts, the Science Center, the Jewel Box floral displays, the Spirit of St. Louis at the Missouri Historical Society. Still, my memories are eclipsed by the great fun to be soaked up there today. See for yourself.
Pros: Convenient, Newly renovated, Metrolink accessable
