Alot for the price

by ribrouser

First time visiting this site.Had 9 hungry people wanting bbq. While driving down Broadway ( about 1 mile from the Rams Stadium) saw the sign and went in. Before going in though, saw an employee out back. Asked him if it was worth stopping. He smiled and said "you won't regret it" He was so right !!! Fed all 9 people for under $100 and even had leftovers to take back to Indiana to feed a 10th. Stop here - "YOU WONT REGRET IT" !!!!

  • Pros: Freindly,Happy Family with excellent Customer Service
  • Cons: No dining room area except a bar level counter to eat at. Need Picnic tables outside.

Wings and Things!

by msgriot

Smokie O's has THE BEST chicken wings and most decadent desserts I've ever had. All of the food is delicious, but if you want to experience eating ecstasy, try some chicken wings and a German Chocolate Cake! Ok, actually, you could try some rib tips and Carrot cake, or a polish and Cheese cake, or just try it all!

  • Pros: the food is deilcious and the staff is wonderful
  • Cons: If i eat there too many times, I won't be able to move!

Super good, super friendly, well worth the trip

by jvosh1

Amazing. Great food, great people, great value. It is a bit out of the way, but they make you feel at home. I wasn't prepared to like it as much as i did, the only bad thing i can say is that they are more of a take out, but they do have some stools, and they don't have a liqour license, but once you taste the food it really doesn't matter. I'd eat there at least once a week if i could. Well worth it.

Best BarBQue

by Harveyf

Went here after reading on City Search. A Great tip. Very friendly staff. No ambiance so don't expect it. Could be St. Louis answer to Arther Bryant's in KC if six times larger and busier. You wont be disappointed unless ambiance is more important than food. Don't be afraid of the neigborhood. It is basically an empty warehouse district. We went on a tuesday night before the ballgame. They had mostly carry outs including one large limo. Our group tasted the ribs the tips and the brisket all was excellent. We asked for the lean cut of brisket (the thin end). It was exceptional.

Wonderful tasteful food

by bigdaddy10

I went to this place on the reccomendation of City Search. Boy was that a great tip. I took my family of 5 and a neighbor and we all had ample portions for arounf $40.00. 6 people for $40.00 that is amazing. Not only was it inexpensive it was made with care. Not just some cook book type of cookie cutter food but food that nourishes your body and leaves you shaking your head. Although everything was good I must really reccomend the brisket.....succulet.

Smoli O's Rules!

by philintexas

When in St. Louis - you must have barbecue! Smoki O's is near downtown, serveral blocks north of the Edward Jones Dome. The pulled pork sandwich and footlong hot link dog were amazing. The pork ribs were the best I have ever had. The sides are great accompaniments to the meals - BBQ baked beans, mashed potato sald, coleslaw and the butter/cheese bread to sop up all that sauce. Call and ask if they deliver to downtown hotels - they did for me!

ChefRichard

After 30 years of cooking & grillling. This is the best barbecue I've ever tasted. The meat is tender and not charred. It has a full hickory smoked flavor that is not overbearing. Also the sauce Oh the sauce is the very best... most people worry about heartbun and the such when eating barbecue at my age (50); but not so with Smoki O's barbecue it's the best. You know what they say?? Try it you'll love it.

  • Pros: price, parking, hospitality
