I GO TO SHI SALON. I LOVE IT! MY STYLIST IS THE HAIR DOCTER "MS JENNY".I use to dread all day experiences at the salon. Until I was referred by a friend to Shi salon .Shi Salon is different, unique, pricey but worth every penny. Shi is about style and attitude. One does not go to Shi for a hair style , you go there for a sense of beauty a sense of understanding and discovering who you are just by your hair. I have been in severe hair trouble and being a local entertainer I do not need to get caught slipping to many times, with a bad head, I know that if I call the doctor s, at any time,she is going to fit me to ensure that my needs are met. Everytime I leave that salon I know i'm going to feel refreshed and renewed from the inside out. My stylist is very uplifting she is positive and wants to see me look good! She empowers you to work on your inner beauty and she will secure the rest. Sheprovides you with an image thats for YOU! The whole time you are there the stlyist are asking you to relax, from the massage you get at the shampoo bowl to the melodic flows of soulful music that you will hear playin in the room to the inpirational quotes you can read by the dryer stations.This is all very uplifting to me. The atmosphere is very comfortable,put ya cell phone down, and just relax, comfortable, ecclecticand stylish. I love the image mirror in front of your chair , you can watch your hair being styled. There are no surrpises...Actually there are, u will be amaz ed and pleased at your hair results.I have gotten up from the chair with a new do and been like is that me? You can tell a Shi girl becasue ladies that go to Shi pay the cost to be the boss!!! Every one that is someone in StLOuis must experience the Shi Salon. I go every week even if its just for a touch up!!! I need that magic, I need their blessings I need Dr Jenny from the Shi salon in my life. I have Shi Salon as my top friend on myspace page so you know I'm serious about this place.

Best place to get yo dooo did!! i love this salon, i have been coming to these group of women for over 10 years and when i walk through the door im always met with a friendly face and my name specific greeting. if i were to compare my experience to something i would say Norm on "cheers" you are always made to feel welcome, they are trendy, my hair always looks like i paid a billion dollars for it and im more than pleased when i leave. (shhh, sometimes i feel like a hot girl...lol) HOWEVER, u do have to pay for parking and a "busted" meter maid seems to snake her way around when your defences are low and passes out plenty of $10 tickets......but dont hold that against the salon, its a wonderful experience, i know, i wouldnt give my money to anyone else. ****BUT ONCE I DID AND IT LOOKED LIKE SHE PUT A BOWL ON MY HEAD AND CUT AROUND IT.....TIFFANY (THE STYLIST) SAVED THE DAY.......YEA FOR SHI

Shi Salon has a very professional staff. They offer excellent customer service while providing comfort to all of thier clients. My stylist, Tiffany, is extremley good at her craft. She uses great products, gives great recommendations and leaves your hair healthy and stylish. They only con that I have is the parking and the prices. They are pricey, but you pay for what you get!

The salon is trendy, and the staff is nice. Unfortunately, they can get expensive. They use fairly good products, and are up to date on the newest styles. The owner is pleasent just as well as the other stylist. Look at their site for pricing info. FYI a relaxer and trimmed ends will cost you $100 and if you add in a tip you're looking at $115. You also have to pay for your own parking at the meter because they do not have a parking lot. The good thing is, they'll tell you if you leave a comment on this site they'll give you $10 off on your next service. If you can afford it, or are wiling to pay the price I say go for it. If this is just too pricey for you, seek elsewhere.

I just relocated here to St. Louis from Charlotte, NC and was in search on-line for a new hair salon. I have been with the same hair stylist for over 11 years, so I was a bit anxious trying someone new. When I called to make my appointment I was greeted by a stylist named Abra. She had great phone etiquette, which impressed me first. While waiting on my turn to get serviced, Abra made sure that I was comfortable by offering me a beverage and a snack. She also gave me her full attention during the entire visit, explaining every process that took place. The salon is set up quite nicely, and you can pay by credit card too. I was very pleased by my salon experience from the time I came in until I left. I look forward to seeing Abra again on my next appointment.

Pros: Quality Customer Service

Cons: Pay to park

We found this salon thru a website called mixedchicks. It is one of the only salons that carry a product for mixed ethnicticites. I have been to numerous salons over 13 years to try to learn how to style and "tame" my 13year olds wild hair. We have been all over the east coast and everywhere in between, to no avail. We have been told by "White" salons to go to "Black" salons, and "Black salons tell us to go to "White". We have gone to many and the stylist have been lacking of the knowledge of how or what to do to my daughters hair. Not for lack of trying, but often did more damage than good. We stopped in today to check it out and ask questions. We were blessed to meet Abra one of the stylist. She gave us a free consultation and took my daughter to her chair and I belive a miracle was performed!!! My daughters hair is long, curly, dry, thick and matted. When Abra was finished I did not reconize my daughter. She had her hair more beautiful than I have EVER seen it. She took her time, explained how to maintain and the follow up care that my daughter needed and when to maintain her goregous now long straight silky shining hair. My daughter said after,it felt like her head had lost weight. It was lighter and so pretty. She couldn't stop running her fingers through her hair! We drove over an hour and 1/2 to get to Shi Salon and will be going back!!! This young pretty lady Abra made my daughters year. I would recommend no other salon for mixed ethnic young and old alike. Abra and the others at the salon made us feel welcome and appreciated our bussiness. I wish all salons would take a lesson on Customer Service from these ladies!!! There Trully is no finer salon East of West. Beautiful contemporary yet "homey" feel. The prices were very reasonable!!! Want to look like a Queen make and appointment at Shi Salon. There hours are great and the ladies are really AWESOME!!! SO much bought a gift cert. Thank-you Abra and Shi. Sheila Lamczyk

I loved this salon, I liked that I didn't have to wait a long time like I would at other salons. I liked the fact that they used my name like I have been going there for a long time. They were very personable and polite. I would recommend this place to anyone who doesn't like to wait and who enjoys fun and modern hair styles.

" I moved to Saint Louis from Los Angeles, and have had quiet a few experiences. Needless to say, some were not so favorable. I decided to search the internet for a stylist, and I "clicked" on Shi Salon. I am not very computer literate or savvy, but was impressed with the content. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Genesis Phd , and walked out the ANNOINTED DIVA that was repressed since arriving to St. Louis. The ambience was awesome and the fellowship of the saints in this place was unexplainable. These sistas were spiritual, and their mindset and professionalism showed no evidence of carnality. PRAISE HIM FOR BEING THE LAMP TO SHI. You all are the best!!!!!!!!

I have never been to a salon like Shi in my life. From the moment I stepped in I could tell it was extremely different as I was handed a questionnaire pertaining to my hair type, regimen, and problems. Tiffany was my hairstylist and I LOVE what she did to my hair. For the first time, my hair actually has body and rarely ever needs to be styled because of the low maintenance cut she gave me. I plan to return to Shi, with Tiffany as my stylist of course.

Pros: Walk out looking and feeling better than you came in.

Cons: The price nearly broke my bank as a college student.
