SO HELPFUL

I just got back from my haircut at Shi. I was losing my hair and it was too long for how thin it had become so I went to Shi. Aba helped me. She cut it above the shoulder and made me absolutely LOVE it. They were so nice, so helpful. It was beautiful and welcoming and I loved my experience there. I would recommend it to anyone! I am so freaking happy with my haircut it's ridiculous!

Great Stylists

I want to return, but I cannot find Abra. She has left and I have no other way to find her. If anyone knows, please respond. I will frequently check!

Abra was my stylist. She was great, laid back, and creative. I came to the appointment wanting a new style, and boy did I get one. A sharp cut that I could spiral or flat iorn. Love IT!

TERRIBLE Service- No Show by the Owner!

I had an appointment with Tiffany, the owner of the Salon, at 8:00 am. When I had called to make the appointment, I explained to Tiffany that I was getting married in a few weeks and was hoping for a great hair cut. She explained how she would do a consultation before the cut.

My appointment was the first of the morning, and my visit began by having to wait for someone to come open the locked salon. The employee did not arrive until approximately 8:05, five minutes after my appointment.

I sat in the salon for approximately 20 minutes, and finally asked whether my appointment was in fact at 8:00 or if I had the time wrong. I was told that Tiffany was "running a little late".

Around 8:30, an employee decided to wash my hair, as Tiffany still had not arrived. I was unhappy that my hair would be washed before meeting with the stylist for a consultation, but by that point, I was more interested in saving some time.

By 8:45, Tiffany still had not arrived. I asked for an update and was told that she was "on her way". Another employee told me he was going to blow dry my hair, which I refused. I've never heard of having your hair dried BEFORE the cut. After I refused the blow dry, the employee walked away rudely.

At 9:00, one hour after my appointment, Tiffany still had not arrived, so I left the salon.

I was extremely disappointed and frustrated with this experience. There was a complete lack of professionalism from the entire staff. No one acknowledged that Tiffany was extremely late, and I was only given "updates" when I asked. No one ever apologized for the inconvenience. I expected a call or card from Tiffany/the salon apologizing for the situation, especially considering that I was coming in as a bride before my wedding, but I never heard anything from the salon.

Stay away from Shi-- they are completely rude and unprofessional!

No place like it

I love Shi. I found them when I lived in STL. I happen to see a young lady walking through the mall with her hair looking just FIERCE. I asker her where she got it done and the rest if history. I love Marie, the owner, she is wonderful. The entire staff is friendly and the salon has a wonderful atmosphere and feel about it. I now live in Washington, DC and have yet to find a salon that take as much pride and care in doing my hair. From Detroit to Washington DC I have never been to another salon/stylist as good as those at Shi salon. When it was time for me to get my hair re-cut I flew all the way back to STL just to see Marie. And, on top of cuts and color, they do some of the fiercest weaving I have ever seen.

Lynn, who I don't believe works there anymore, also owns a salon and does the best eyebrows you will ever see. Thick full and natural!!! Ask them about her as well.

LOVE SHI SALON

I love shi salon....my mom lucy goes there to get her hair done and im thinking about considering that to be my new beauty shop. They use the best products and when I got my hair done there for my mom's wedding my hair was flawless.....omg its just the best place to go. Everyone there is wonderful

I recently visited Shi Salon and has an appointment with Marie. The inside of the shop is very sheek and modern and all of the women were friendly. I went to get a straight press, as I have been natural for 2 years. I had received rave reviews from some of my friends and decided to try it out myself and I must say it was great. Marie was not at all intimidated by the amount of hair I have, because it is really thick. Even though my appointment was with Marie, another one of the girls actually blowdried and flatironed my hair straight, Quianna. She is really good. My hair is bone straight and has a lot of body. Marie did bend my ends and continued to get to know me as a person. This place is very personable and professional and I will be returning again. I recommend you go check it out!

Loved my hair!

Ladies if you are looking for a salon where you don't smell burning hair and extra loud gossip you need to visit Shi Salon! The women were so professional, knowledgeable about hair and its care that I was so shocked. I have been from shop to shop and I finally did it right this time! I have gotten the best sew in ever. My hair wasn't damaged in the process, my stylist knew what she was doing, she asked me questions about my service. I mean I walked out of the salon knowing I was the *ish. I mean normally the hairstyle I have I would not have had the confidence to pull it off, but I did today! I mean I can go on and on about the atmosphere and how I was treated, but you can just go and visit yourself at 1900 Olive. Big Shout Out to my stylist Quianna. I have found a stylist!

Shi Salon: Answer to Hair care, cut, and color=Constance

Hello St. Louis I just wanted to take the opportunity to let all the women in the city know if you are looking for a salon that is professional with great atmosphere and of course they best hair stylist in th area I have found it at the Shi Salon. I visit the Shi Salon every week faithfully for my weekly wash and set or anything else that I may need to get done by my hair care professional Constance, who has been the only person that I will allow to touch my hair for the past 8 years. I went through numerous hair stylist until I was lucky enough to be referred to Constance by a family member and the rest is history, she is professional and very knowledgeable about her craft. What I love about Constance is that I can go into the shop to get my hair done and just sit down in the chair and allow her to do what she does best and it is exactly what I wanted without opening my mouth. She takes her time and thinks about what is best for you and you come out of the hair salon like you just left the spa. Since my experience with going to the Shi Salon to get my hair done I feel that I can trust anyone of the ladies there with my hair and I know I will be happy with the outcome. So shout out to Constance, Marie and all the ladies at the Shi Salon keeping doing what you do and rest assure that nobody does it like you guys!

Great place to get your hair done, and Shi Salon carries Mixed Chicks products. So if you have curls, these products will define them. And if you want to take your curls striaght, you can also use Mixed Chicks before you have Shi put any heat on those locks. Either way, Mixed Chicks and Shi will help your hair to shine!

Fierce Intensity

Before my experiece at Shi Salon with my Stylist Constance, my relaxers would never take correctly, atleast not without a burning sensation that is;Because of her professional relaxer system, she is able to immediately apply the haircolor to the hair and it doesn't cause irritation to the scalp or breakage. Before my visit to Shi Salon i couldn't tell you what it meant to have body or shine to the hair and now i recommend everyone educate themselves . Another thing I love about my stylist is that she can tell you step by step how to keep your hair healthy and will let you know why she's uses certain products and the effect it will have on your hair. Shi Salon is a friendly environment that allows you to fit right in, therefore inspiring me to come up with a phrase describing my experice at Shi Salon, " Fierce Intensity!"
