GooFy Fun piano bar that takes all requests

If I am in the mood just to laugh and have a good time I would go to this bar. Watching and listening to the entertainers go from hip-hop to heavy metal to country on a piano while doing improv is amazing. How many places have a shot guy? They are not your normal uptight piano bar
Absolutely a fantastic place to go when you are in St. Louis.

10-25-08 - ROCKtoberfest. We couldn't park in the lot across the street because of the stage and booths set up, but that was the only difficulty all day. We went in before they were open and took pictures of the BEAUTIFUL bar (Tiger Walnut? and stained glass). They let us wander then told us when they opened so we could come back and buy T-shirts. When we came back the bartenders were preparing for the night but we got personalized service from Nick.... who makes the BEST Naughty Redheads! (imagine that..he's a redhead) He asked us to come back and see the place at full swing for the evening, but we were going to the Blues game. He assured us that we would have a great time. After the game we went back and the place was PACKED, but after getting a few drinks and finding a place to rest.....we were entertained, by both the pianists and the crowd. 3 bachlorette parties, birthday parties and tons of people having a great time.
Nick, Brad and Jeff - took great care of us all day. We will be back to this place (with our other 4 sisters!)
I will never go back to St. Louis without a trip to T h e B i g B a n g.
- Pros: Entertainment - FUN - Excellent drinks
- Cons: Crowded - if you get there late you WILL be standing. Needs a bit of redecorating.

I was at bar on July 4th. I had a pretty good time. I went back with a group of friends on July 5th. Totally different expeience. I will not go back. I wrote down a song, I had a 5 dollar bill to go with it. I went to take it up to the pianos and I was elbowed off by the piano player. He was very rude. I paid $6 cover charge and 5 for a song. I wish i would of grabbed my money back. i wasn't thinking quick enough. I was still in shock of by what he did. I told my sister about the incident, she goes every time she is in St. Louis. She won't be going back. I know I will never go back. All because of 1 bad apple. He was soooooo rude. The security guy next to stage was no better. very disappointed. I had heard quite a feww good things. So I thought I try it. My mistake. once was enough for me.
- Pros: none
- Cons: a lot

There's a good chance of a good time, every time at this piano bar where the crowds are the stars.
On occasion, it can be a great time

An interesting piano bar to say the least, full of contradictions. The music is very loud. The interior is decorated in early-basement (concrete floors, exposed metal pillars, no wall decor whatsoever). The crowd is eclectic, ranging from businessmen in suits to your typical Landing trend-setters, to the punk-rock crowd.
The band does the usual piano tunes, which is great fun and very engaging for the audience. Still, it's nothing different or new as piano bars go, unless you count the stripped-down interior. The drinks are expensive, and the crowd is hit-or-miss. But it is open until 3am, and if you're "industry" you'll get treated like a prince/princess (hence, my advice to people is always say you're industry if going here).
Don't get me wrong: you probably will have a good time, especially if you want to try something different. But this IS a piano bar, and graded against it's brethren, it offers nothing new, and even falls short in several aspects.
amazing talent, great entertainment

WOW, I went here around Christmas time, and it wasn't what I expected.... It was better! Geeze, it was so amazing, the piano players would compete against eachother and battle it out while the audience sang along danced, and drank cocktails. I loved how you could request songs and they could plractically play anything!
My friends and I have been several times..Each time is better than the last....the enertainment is outstanding..Drinks and service were great also..Our bartender was EXCELLENT.

- Pros: everything.
- Cons: nothing
Terrible service, discourteous punks for bouncers

I have never had more discourteous service at a bar. The bar tenders didn't know how to make a good martini, and my mojito didn't have mint or sugar in it. The staff was just flat out rude. $6 for rude service, over priced bad drinks, and a bar filled with 40 somethings, go to any of the other bars on the landing over this one.
- Pros: Great Performance atmosphere
- Cons: terible service and attitude.
I've never not had a good time here

This place has been a favorite of mine since the first time I ever went there. The waitstaff is not only courteous, fast, and attentive, but they are required to dance on the bars whenever YMCA is played-- if they're willing to act THAT ridiculous for complete strangers every night of the week, they MUST be dedicated to their jobs.
The piano players also should be commended. Not only are they great musicians, but they are true performers; they now how to warm up a crowd, and they know how to get an entire bar full of people on their feet.
The Bang is best for big groups of people (especially if said group has been drinking). I'm fairly sure it's physically impossible for an average group people to show up here, drink, and not enjoy themselves.
The only con I have is the noise level; it can get pretty raucus in there sometimes, but that just goes to show how many people have a good time while there.
- Pros: Great atmosphere, lively music, reasonably priced drinks.
- Cons: Can get loud/crowded.
