I would have rated this shop lower if possible. This place is lucky that most people won't know a bad tattoo the first time around...........then its too late. If your getting a tattoo here, save some money to go elsewhere for that COVER UP!!!! Barnum Bailey said it best.......there's a suck-R born every minute, and Rock Star is banking on it.

Rockstar tattoo is great! I just went back and got my nose pierced there and their price was WAY below the "compitition" I'm talking like $15 less than the other shops. These guys are awesome and I have had all my friends get their tattoos and piercings there because you get quality artwork with great price. They are very knowledgeable about different styles and Matt ( the piercer) makes you feel really comfortable.

Pros: Great price, awesome guys

This shop has three no BS tattooers who do what they do because they love to tattoo. They aren't money-mongers who don't care about why you're getting the tattoo or who try to sell you something that you didn't really want in the first place. They will work with you to develop your ideas into something beautiful, something cool, something original. And what's really nice is that they respect the old-school traditions of tattooing that a lot of shops have forgotten about. My favorite artist is Steve Hardin - I have a lot of his work. I'd follow him to any shop that he works in, anywhere. He was trained by one of the world's finest tattooers - Tony Olivas - and Steve's work is SMOKIN'. Steve has a high level of integrity and is honest with me; he knows different techniques and how to make something work for me. What more could I ask for? I trust him - and knowing that these tattoos are going to be on my body for the rest of my life, I better be able to trust the person doing them. Steve's awesome - I highly recommend his work. Check him out!

Pros: attention to detail, trained artists, sense of humor, great attitude

Cons: all the way out in St. Charles (I don't live anywhere near there) - but it's worth the drive

I have never felt a more welcome and comfortable atmosphere! I've had quite a few tattoos done there and they are the best ones I have and the price was AWESOME! I paid alot more at other places and there not half as good. You can come in and give Jason,Dan or Steve an idea of what you want and they'll draw it just how you want it or they have awesome original designs! Anyway if you want a really great tattoo go to rockstar it's definitely worth it! :)

Excellent tattoo artists. I have never felt better about being tattooed in this place, especially since Dennis is gone. My wife and I never EVER felt like she was treated bad. Dennis was a foul mouthed little boy who strong armed my little neighbor girl into getting something she never actually wanted. Stay as far away from Dennis as possible.

Pros: Great people and great artists

Cons: old artists have left this place with a ad reputation.

This place now has the absolute WORST artists in the area. Just when I thought that Threshold was the most pathetic excuse for a tattoo studio, I see the joke called rockstar. Jason, Steve, and Dan, are not artists at all, they're nothing more than backroom hacks. This place is so disgusting, and overpriced. They used to have an artist who was AMAZING, Dennis I think was his name, not exactly sure though. I saw alot of his work, and he tattooed a lot of my friends, but I never got a chance to get tattooed by him before he left, guess he saw what a joke those guys are as well. Well, do yourselves a favor, don't get tattooed at this shop, do some searching, and seek out a qualified, talented artist. Your flesh will thank you.

Pros: The shop is painted well.

Cons: Horrible tattoos, bad attitude, over priced, the list goes on.....

This place has gone way downhill. I used to get tattooed there by Dennis, he is by far the best in the area. The guys there now could never stack up. The work is horrible, especially for the price, and females are treated badly. I used to love the place, I'll never go back there, and wouldn't recommend ANYONE go either. If you want the best tattoo available in the area look up Dennis, through his site. I just touched base with him, and he's back in town. dennisstraube com

Great place. Steve Hardin ROCKS over there. As well as Dan D. and Jason Barron. These guys are doing killer work, and have great attitudes. They are willing to draw anything we needed and have a nice selection of new and old style flash. Check them out, you wont regret it.

Pros: Great parking, great staff, friendly and fun, not full of theselves like some others
