Horrible Service

Obviously if you read these reviews you can clearly tell that the owners and the staff are very full of themselves. I gave this spa two chances and was extremely disappointed both times. You can tell that this spa is on the verge of going out of business. It's not impossible to book a treatment due to the spa being over booked its because they don't have anyone on the premise that can give the treatments. There running with a skelton crew not to mention closing up shop by 6 pm. Starting with the phone service to the counterperson and onto the ownership the so called "customer service" just gets worse. I encourage you to save your money and go anywhere else but here. However, the service is so horrendous that it is almost comical at times I found myself shaking my head and saying to myself that I can't believe this is happening. You almost feel as if your being punked. If it wasn't so overly priced I would tell you that you have to stop by just to see first hand what I'm talking about.

The Best Customer Service!!!!

I recently discovered Amarra Spa and Salon from a television ad, and was so pleased to learn there was a new spa & salon option close to home! I decided to stop by and take a look. As soon as I walked in I was warmly greeted by a wonderfully friendly staff. They offered to show me around for a tour, and showed me all of there beautiful rooms! I had questions about what to do about a botched haircut and color I'd gotten a couple months before and they introduced me to one of their available stylists and she was SO knowledgable about their european color line, how to correct my color, and exactly the cut that would give me the look I wanted and control my curly hair. I decided to book an appointment immediately and they got me in that week! I loved my hair SO much I booked an appointment for one of their body treatments, a massage, and a facial....I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!! The body treatment helped recover my dry skin from winter and topped off with there special Hawiian massage I felt like I was glowing from the ultimate relaxation experience and it showed all over my skin. The facialist was so knowledgable, and I never knew that a facial could be SO relaxing! I didn't even want to leave! She was able to tell me all about my skin and even which products would help me maintain my dry in the winter, oily in the summer skin, to prevent break outs, dry spots and get that glow back for good! I have absolutely found a wonderful spa that services all my needs and exceeds ALL my expectations! Overall I love Amarra!!!!!

New woman!

I had such a wonderful experience at Amarra! I had a massage, facial, and a haircut with a style... I felt renewed when I left! It so pretty inside I loved the tranquil room, and everyone was so nice!

WHAT A GREAT IDEA

I frrequent spa's and salons around the world. I was given a gift card from a dear friend to Amarra. I was really pleasantly surprised by this spa right here in my backyard. The concept of having a spa with different global inspired room decor and global inspired treatments is usually only found at destination spas. I was happy to find it right here, and happy to have a service that was equal to, if not surpassing what I am accustom to in the high end destination spa places I visit.

Kudos to the people who made this happen here in St. Louis - I look forward to my next visit.

Among the nicest

I read all of the reviews before I made the decision to go to this spa. I was looking for a spa since I am new in the area. I took into consideration the pros and cons. I had my heart set on a great time but also was cautious after reading a few comments from some of the reviews. The first thing I would like to say is that after going to the spa I realized that one of the comments was obviously made by a past employee that wants to basically get some negative shots in, unfortunate that she feels she has to do that. The spa is more than I ever imagined. The staff was far from being negative. In fact compared to some of the spas I have been to they are among the nicest I have ever met. The massage I had was one of the best I have ever had. I walked through the salon side and I see why walkins are hard to come by. They were very busy, it was a Saturday but still I have a feeling that with the atmosphere there and the employees that I met including the owner I can understand why it is hard to come in without scheduling an appointment. I would hope that others would give this spa a chance before reading the negative comments. Go in try it for yourself, make your own decision. I will defintely decide to go back as have so many others. And as for the 5 stars, if the owners and staff is doing that than big props to you, I only wish there was 10 or more stars that I could give them.

Wow! What a great place

I had the real pleasure of visiting this spa and enjoying services. Absolutely outstanding. I can not say enough about how beautiful this place is. I had the nicest massage therapist and I had a massage I had never tried before called an Ashiatsu - it was awesome! There is no going back for me. Thanks CitySearch for the referral - this new spa is my new favorite!

Impressive ... until you meet the staff!

I had to laugh after reading these reviews. Did management write all these reviews to flatter themselves? If they're giving themselves all five stars, they have some pretty big shoes to fill! I had a lay-over in St. Louis and wanted a quick massage. The place looked very high class, new and welcoming from the outside. The inside was incredibly decorated! I was very impressed... until I had to deal with the employees. As soon as I walked in, the associates were very rude and stuck up. I wasn't even greeted! Okay ladies, you're living in Missouri, NOT California or New York, so loose the attitude, right? The staff treated me like I was a cumbersome other more than a valued client! Anyhow, I do not recommend this spa. It has a lot to offer, but the staff is completely lacking.

Walkins are not welcome

I have tried to go there or call and make a last minute appointment and have been unable to ever get anyone to help me. They say they are open later - but you can never get any service done except a hair cut - which I did not like. The atmosphere is nice - but the ability to receive treatments on a walk in basis is impossible.

A great spa & salon!!!!

I have been to several spas in the area, but I have never been to a place that was decorated like Amarra. Every room you enter has a relaxing feel. It is beautiful! The facial I received was awesome and my pedicure was amazing as well. I also get my hair done at Amarra and I love what my stylist does! If you want to look hip and trendy or you want to relax, you have to visit Amarra!!!!

Really Great Massage!

When I first walked in to Amarra Spa & Salon, I wasn't sure what to expect. Right away the staff made me feel at ease, the decor and atmoshere didn't hurt either.....very beautiful! I came in very tired from working all day and just wanted some "me time". Dan took GREAT care of me (I had an hour massage scheduled with him that I couldn't wait to get). Some friends of mine told me that he was THE therapist to get a massage from. He has "magic" hands :) He found all my knots right away and worked them out. My experience couldn't have been more WONDERFUL, everything from the staff, the atmoshere, the way I was taken care of, just everything. I have been to other Spas but I am definately recommending this place to my friends and co-workers!
