I am very particular about my hair as most women are. When I visited Salon Dakota to get a new cut and highlight my stylist (Trisha) spent a great deal of time going over just what I wanted to make sure I would be happy. They are also very accommodating there and friendly. Trish even spent extra time trying to find me the magazine I would like to read. When she finished with my hair, all I could think was WOW! I loved it! I got so many compliments on the cut and color and can't wait to go back again! Would totally recommend this salon and Trish as a stylist :-)

So...just moving to the St. Louis area a year ago I had gone to MANY hair stylists in the area and every time I was disappointed! After one particularly awful haircut I decided enough was enough! So I went to Trish Harrold at Salon Dacota and she does awesome work!! I love my hair. She gave me a great all over color and the cut is amazing. This is the best my hair has a looked in a very long time. Every where I go I get comments on the color and the cut! Salon Dacota is a great place to go. I feel like they really care about how you feel and they want to make sure you are completely satisfied with the way your hair looks! Trish does an amazing job of making sure it is just right and she never rushes me out like I have experience at other salons. If you are in need of a new look and are looking for high quality I strongly recommend Trish Harrold at Salon Dacota. You WILL NOT be disappointed!

I was searching for a new place to get my hair done because I was in kind of a rut so to speak. I got on citysearch and read reviews on Salon Dacota and said, "What the hell"? Let me be the first to say that I am extremely pleased and will recommend them to all my friends for a few reasons. One, I was running late (Manchester is a nightmare) and they still welcomed me with open arms and never once did I feel rushed. Chrissy did my hair and she is absolutely fabulous. I told her several broad ideas of what I wanted showed her a few pictures and what she did was even better than what I had pictured myself. However the real proof in the pudding was that after I left the salon, I went to West County Mall, and literally the first person that I saw stopped me and told me how great my hair looked! Then before I left I was stopped two more times! Let me tell you I was on cloud nine and felt so hot all day and night! Go to this Salon, its worth it

Salon Dacota is absolutely fierce! They have great service, trendy hairsytlists, and the environment is very relaxing.Trisha Harold is my personal favorite! She is great at highlights, cutting, and styling. I have extremely thick coarse hair and she works so well with it. The results are shiny, smooth, and frizz free hair. Every time she does my hair. I walk out so happy. They also have a great rewards system. Every time you refer someone to them, they give a credit that goes towards products or services. You can use it however you like. If you are wanting a fabulous new hairdo or something sytlish and trendy then this is the place to go! Ask for Trisha Harold!

I first called the salon after randomly looking for a new place to get my hair done. I found Salon Dacota on here and read good reviews. I called and was excited about my appointment after talking to Jan on the phone. She was very helpful on my decision of what services I needed and even told me that I would recieve 25% off my first visit. I had no idea what stylist I wanted but she gave me options & I opted to choose Valla, whom she said does her hair as well. When I arrived, Jan was VERY friendly, made me GREAT coffee, brought me a magazine so I could choose the style and color I would like. She even hung up my jacket for me! I was given a form to fill out about my past styles, which made me feel that my stylist really cared about me and what I wanted. When Valla came to greet me, she walked up to me, shook my hand & then sat down next to me. I was so excited to have chosen her because she was so trendy & well manicured. I instantly felt comfortable with her and the salons vibe. Not only did she ask me how I most liked my hair, but I felt that she was taking it to heart. We chose a color that I was not totally sure about but trusted her eye for it when she said it would look great for my skin tone. She then took me back to the most relaxing shampoo area that I have ever experienced and gave me what felt like a 10 minute shampoo followed by a free wax treatment for my hands (thats like $10 at nail places!). As she was doing my cut & style she explained each product and told me how to use them. I was shocked to find out that even at home I could almost duplicate the look! Now to the minus one..the whole time I was sitting in her chair..as a mother of 2 living in Ballwin I was greatly discerned to hear the man beside her complaining about Ballwin/West County and children. But once again the salon pleased me & now I'll make my appts on Wed morning when there is only a positive vibe . I recommend that you choose Valla-you will love her!

I moved to Saint Louis almost a year ago and felt bad about leaving my stylist in Illinois. I did some searching and came upon Salon Dacota and decided to give it a try due to the 25% discount on your first visit. I did not request a particular stylist for the first visit, and although I'm sure that all of the staff there is excellent, I'm hooked on Bobbi! The first visit I had some color issues to work out and decided to go with a color and a trim. Both services were wonderful. The second visit I discussed a pixie cut which I had wanted to do for years. Bobbi gave me the cut I have always wanted. Also, the color he used lasted over two months. I have never had so many compliments on my hair, even from strangers. The environment is very welcoming, calming, and relaxed. I make the drive from the city to Ballwin and I have never been disappointed. I highly recommend Salon Dacota, and if he has an opening...go with Bobbi! He truly takes the time to listen to what you want, and even if you're not sure, he presents a number of options to consider. As a young attorney, I needed a cut that would look professional yet provide a "funkier" style for going out. I have both and am very pleased.

Hello Ladies N Gents! First a little about me: I have frequented 4 to 5 different salons and demand only the best from my stylist. I have a lot of hair, and I mean a lot! It's thick, long, and has a lot of body. A normal cut for me lasts about an hour, and that’s without a blowdry! Now why would a girl want to change her stylist? Well, my stylist just didn't seem interested any more and she helped make up my mind by going on maternity leave. So, off I go in search for someone new. I previously used Salon Dakota and decided to give them another try. But first I made a phone call to probe and see if they had someone with experience cutting long hair. We bounced a couple names off and I decided with Derrick. I had been there before and love the quaint, but modern homey feel of the salon and didn't have to wait but five minutes to meet Derrick. He gave an immediate impression that we could be great friends, which is always a bonus when you’re sitting there for over an hour with this person! We discussed my hair qualities, and how it is usually cut and styled, and he proceeded to educate me as to why the previous cut and style was no longer working for me. This guy knows his stuff! We resumed my appointment with a wash and relaxing scalp massage. He explained each product as he applied it and how it benefited my hair and the environment, a plus since I'm a tree hugger! I then dipped my hands in peach paraffin wax, mmm. The cut: I felt so confident in his knowledge and experience, that I let him go with the flow and, let me tell you, it turned out fabulous!! I have not had my hair look so glamorous and chic in years! And compliments galore! I gave out four referrals in an hour! I am definitely going back for my next cut and style and refer anyone to use Derrick as their stylist! I give Derrick major props and he better stick around so I can keep going to him!

I moved to saint louis to further my career as a doctor in 2006. Being in a field where you are around many people in all walks of life, it is important to be professional and look your best. I heard about Salon Dacota from a lifetime friend, and although I value her opionion, I wanted to see for myself what the establishment was all about. My first visit was great! I absolutly loved the way my haircut looked, and being a woman we all know how important it is for a great hair style. The melodic music, the great photos on the wall, and the enthusaistic crew where very aesthetic. Not only did they cut my hair great , the environment of the establishment was very invigorating. I have nothing bad to say about Salon Dacota. I would recomend them to all my friends, family and clients. I believe that if your looking for a great professional cut with a pleasant atmosphere then Salon Dacota is your place. Thank you, Doctor Tanner.

I went to Salon Dacota after trying to find a new stylist and reading the reviews here. I would say the overall experience based on about four visits is just fair to average. While the front staff is extremely enthusiastic and friendly, the stylist I went to (based on reviews here) just didn't really seem to be interested in this type of work for the long haul. She started cutting my hair one visit, and I said that hadn't scheduled a hair cut this time." She said "I'm sure you DID", left to check the computer, came back and said "I guess it was the next customer." Wow. Even if I had, you would think she would have first asked if I wanted the same cut as before! I also was never offered the complimentary parrafin hand wax after the first visit. Perhaps I just got a bad stylist, as I saw some great hair done on other clients. Mine just seemed disinterested, unenthusiastic and a bit unprofessional.

Pros: front desk staff, stylists running on-time

As a new resident of St. Louis, a couple of days ago I found myself here on citysearch looking for a place to get my haircut. After looking over the reviews of several salons, I chose Salon Dacota. For the past several years I had to resort to cutting my own hair due to bad hair experiences. I do not know how to cut hair properly so you can imagine my hair situation. I was hesitant about going to a new salon in a new city but I am so glad I did. From the minute I stepped in the door I was met with friendly, smiling faces that made me feel not only welcome, but like I belong there. The staff took the time to find out what my personal needs were by having me answer a few questions about me and my hair so that they could treat me individually to my needs. From experience, I know that many times a hair dresser will ask you what you want done, but I also know that very few actually listen. This was not the case at Salon Dacota. I would recommend Chrissy at Salon Dacota to anyone who needs a fresh start. The atmosphere was pleasant, the people were friendly and professional and I love the referral program they have. I don't know of any salon that gives you cash credit for merchandise for every person you referr like Salon Dacota does. I know if Salon Dacota were in my hometown, I am certain my friends would all go there when they seen what they did for me!! Don't be afraid......change is good at Salon Dacota !!!!! (thanks chrissy! Hope to see you before x-mas for the color we talked about!!)
