The worst costumer service EVER

The women that work here are old and hateful! Their selection is pretty good, but you had better go in early and know EXACTLY what you want. They won't let you browse rentals. They barely discuss anything with you. They can't handle any amount of business without freaking out, getting overwhelmed, and resulting to pure rudeness. Their location and pretty decent costumes are what keeps them in business. Recommended only if you have a very high tolerance for bad attitudes.

• Pros: Great costumes
• Cons: Too expensive, ESPECIALLY considering the service.

The worst service I have ever experienced

The older woman who works at the store is completely rude. She spent about 5 minutes with me while I tried on 3 costumes and felt she was overworked. She would not give any suggestions. When the costume did not fit, she would not discuss it and even though I only took them home and brought back 20 minutes later, she charged me anyway. I called and asked to speak to the owner, she would not give me the number and cursed and hung up. It was unbelievable.

• Cons: I gave one star because I have to, otherwise would rate 0.

RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Lets just say my last visit to REMEMBER ME will be my final visit!!! This is a COSTUME shop and I find it silly you really aren't able to browse the store to get ideas. The Owner acts as its a huge inconvenience to attend on a paying customer's needs. I will say if you are seeking vintage costume rentals The Vintage Haberdashery in South City Saint Louis has MUCH friendlier service and the rental prices are better. I also took about a half hour drive to Belleville Illinois to the CenterStage costume shop where the OWNER was rather friendly and had excellent customer service. The BONUS with Center stage they had some of the same costumes Remember me had but her rental price was almost 30.00 less!!!! I Don't know how Remember me stays in business with such rude customer service!

Worst customer service.

I called to see if they would hold a Halloween item that I had previously seen in the store so that my husband could pick it up. Complaint #1: I called at 10:50am. She answered the phone with, "Remember Me, we aren't open." I began to ask her my quick question and she responded with, "If you call back between 11am and 7pm I will help you. Not now." 10 minutes? She couldn't just quickly answer my question? Why answer the phone then? Complaint #2: I called back an hour later after they were open to ask her to hold the item. She said, "Is it paid for?" I said, "No, but my husband will be right in and he won't know how to find the item." She said, "You call me when he is here." Then she hung up on me.

this place deserves zero stars but i guess i had to click one..i just wanted to add to what others said..it has been a long time since i have been to this store but several halloweens ago i needed a costume & i thought it was very silly that i could not look around ..the lady pretty much implied that i needed to know what exactly what i was looking for..she didnt want me to browse..

Average selection, even worse customer service

I am not surprised that others have remarked on this business's non-existent customer service. Any accolades this establishment has received are exaggerations at best. Their costume selections are average - but this wouldn't be a problem if the proprietor didn't exhibit an egregious disdain for her own customers. I went into this shoppe with my mother and aunt, intent on either renting or purchasing apparel. I rent costumes and purchase vintage clothing and accessories regularly; this was my first and last visit to this store. The proprietor greeted us by telling us to get out if we were there to only browse. We were taken aback; I tried to look at some of her selections (how can one shop if not to browse collections??) but the proprietor repeated herself. I was offended, my elderly aunt and mother were embarrassed, and we left tout de suite. I will not make the mistake of patronizing this shop again nor will I recommend it others, especially when so many other quality vintage stores with helpful staff exist here in St. Louis.

• Pros: The modest selection has some quality
• Cons: tiny shoppe, hideous customer service, very uncomfortable experience

Customer Service

I was recently involved in the in the rental of a costume from Remember Me. I have never been so poorly treated by a retail establishment. The proprietor was rude and inconsiderate in ever aspect of the transaction. I will never again step foot in this business. On the other hand if you enjoy being treated with total anger, disrespect and abusive behaviour then Remember Me might just be your kind of place.

• Pros: apparently they have good selection of rentals
• Cons: horrible customer service

Horrific Customer Service!

As has been mentioned previously, this could be a great place, with a fairly extensive collection, were it not for the horrific customer service! I rented an outfit for Halloween, and my experience in the shop with the owner (an older woman with dark hair) was one of the worst experiences I have ever had! She was rude not only to the customers in the store, but exceptionally rude to her own workers! Later, when I called to inquire about picking up my costume, she snapped that they would be turning off the phone, there was no need to call, and hung up! Even if they had the greatest selection around (which they do not: the rentals show extensive wear and damage) the customer service is a big turnoff. Check out Donnaland or some other costume place for your needs, especially for vintage wear.

This shop in historic Soulard makes costumes the old-fashioned way: It sews 'em. Oh, and they also sell vintage wear.

The Scene
If you don't want to show up at your next costume party wearing the same old thing, then drop by this shop. There are two floors where customers peruse racks to rent or buy accessories and entire outfits. Costumes are sized from a woman's 3 to plus sizes, but the option of having something tailor-made is always there. No one's left out with a selection of costumes and clothing for men, women and children. Besides the costumes, there's plenty of vintage duds from the 1920s on up to the 1970s.

The Goods
Need go-go boots to go with that polyester? How about some leopard platform shoes for that purple pimp suit? You'll find a veritable cornucopia of hats, wigs, purses, sunglasses, jewelry, vests, boas, bustiers and fishnet tights.

If not for the people...

... it would be a wonderful shop. They've got decent variety on hand with the possibility of making whatever you wanted... Except the service is horrible. The quality of their merchandise is alright, some of it's in great condition, some... not so great. The value of the items is kinda pricey, but overall it's a nifty place, as long as you can stand them snatching some item out of your hands with a snippy "It's a rental," or "We're working on that," comment.

• Pros: Decent variety
• Cons: Rude, slow service.
