I leased an apt. from this co. I have always paid my rent. I was commuting to KC MO and would be gone for weeks at a time. I gave the manager my credit card number to run with instructions to do so after 12pm. We agreed if there was any problem that she would call me. Of course I thought my rent was paid, no problem. Well it wasn't, and they did not call me at my emergency contact or on my cell. They admit this. Next time I come home anxious to sleep in my bed, the locks have been changed, and eviction notice taped to my door. The office was well aware that I worked out of town for long jaunts. There was no excuse for their lack of communication since they had called me about other things such as a light fixture. I accept the eviction and go back to KCMO to earn the $1500+ to rescue my belongings. The manager informs me in front of witnesses that I have until the 21st of Sept to pay the fees and remove my things. Mind you I am only late 13 days when they evict me and my rent is in the low $500's. I have my mail forwarded to a friends house and she opens a letter from them, it is an ad to sell my things on Sunday 9/17/06. Well, I hurry home money in hand to pay for my things, as I was expecting some treachery. When I next talk to the manager she tells me I must have my things moved out on 9/15/2006 by 4:30! She claims there will be no maintenance person to open the door on the weekend--yet they have advertised that they will sell my things that very same Sunday. Legally, a person has 30 days to remove their items and pay rent and legal costs. She kept cutting my days shorter and shorter and would have sold my things on Sunday 4 days before she said I had to pay and remove. I never have been treated so abysmally. The funds for the rent were available until from the day I authorized charge. I had to threaten to call the Sherrif to gain any cooperation. Do not lease from this company the are unscrupulous, disloyal, and down right nefarious.
