Good experience as a whole
by tinydancer75 at Citysearch
I moved to St. Louis 8 months ago from Miami, and was referred to this salon by my realtor. I was initially terrified of possibly getting some bad mid west hair, but the entire staff was really accommodating and I liked the casualness of it. See Ashley and Lucas! They are both precise about their work and they listen!
- Pros: good atmosphere
- Cons: inconvenient parking
A True Master
by dingoo2 at Citysearch
Dominic is a Master Cutter, I was new to town (form Oklahoma) and had asked about the best Salons in the area. Dominic Michael Salon kept coming up as a "place to go". I asked for the owner, Dominic. my hair looks Fabulous.....loads of compliments he was charming and skilled! I will be Dominics Client as long as live in STL.
- Pros: Excellent Cut Excellent Service
- Cons: None to speak of
I've had an amazing haircut for three years!
by illrose at Citysearch
I've been getting my hair cut by Dominic himself for three years and he continues to to stun me. I've lived in two metropolitan cities and seen many stylists who do not know how to cut my curly hair. But Dominic is a master.
If you have curly hair, long or short, I recommend him.
100%

In this economy, customer service should definately be top priority if you want return clients. After waiting up front for quite some time while Im told to "go get washed" I am then placed in Dominic's chair as he is pacing throughout the salon on his cell phone. It's cold and I continue to wait! Dominic comes over, rushes through my "consultation" and he starts to cut. I think i waited longer than it actually took to cut/style my hair! Everything about this service felt rushed. I felt like i was in an assembly line hair salon! I didnt feel like I was at all important and will definately not return.
- Pros: none
- Cons: everything
Courteous Timely Experienced and Confident

THANK YOU STEVEN D. M. for a great cut!!!
Its been a long time, searching high and low, since I have been able to find someone with the experience and most importantly CONFIDENCE in cutting my hair. I have found my new hair Mecca which i will return to again and again knowing i will get courteous service from the reception and a great stylist who will understand my hair type and how to execute a proper cut and style for my face.
Thank you again to the receptionist who guided me to the right person and to Steven for the care and time in cutting my hair right. Thank you!
Lets be serious. You are not all you may think you are.

Service was just so so and he was running around like a crazyman. Dominic is a medium sized fish in a very small cloudy pond. Get off your erratic a** and learn some respect/ethics for your stylist and clients. When I was there I couldnt get over how unprofessional things seemed to be "running". And that twirling Tyler...my goodness, get somewhere and sit down. This used to be a high profile salon people wanted to go to...what the hell happened. Maybe you should look into some continuing education... I will most certainly not be returning.
- Pros: Joann and Katie
- Cons: everything else
Worst salon experience ever
by jdsassygirl at Citysearch
I chose to go to Dominic Michael when I first moved to St. Louis because I was looking for an upscale salon. I went in for highlights, and already didn't think it was a good sign when the fit me into the schedule the same day I called. My colorist smelled like cigarettes. It was awful having her hands so close to my face and nose! After she foiled me, she started on another client, and left me to process. Then when I was done processing, she told me to sit at one of the sinks and wait for someone to wash my har out. I did, and finally someone came over to help me and was confused as to why I was sitting there waiting. She washed out my color, and said "there you go." NO ONE COMBED MY HAIR OUT OR DRIED IT. How are you supposed to see what your haircolor looks like if you don't blowdry it? So, I combed it out and blowdried it MYSELF. Then I had to find my way to the front of the salon myself and find my top to change out of the cape I was wearing. WORST SALON EXPERIENCE EVER, I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE. Oh, the highlights weren't very good either.

Avoid this place!!!!!

Bad experience - terrible haircut that cost $100 by Dominic (who supposed to be a real professional). Paid $100 for har cut plus $160 for coloring. Now I have to cut my hair again -this time I go next door place -I'm sure they can do it much better than Dominic. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SALON -BIG BIG NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if you want real talent, don't bother

In Chicago, where I'm from, there are a lot of great stylists. Since I'm stuck in southern Illinois for now I went to Dominic MIcheal thinkning it was the "best" around and even went to Dominic himself. What a joke, he started off by saying he wanted "to do whatever" I wanted, in the end he did what HE wanted and it wasn't even that great and after he was done had the arrogance to say he did it that way because he thought my original shape wasn't "feminine." what?? His skill is average at best, and definitely not worth the $85. I'd rather make the trip to Chicago.
- Pros: none
- Cons: doesn't listent to customer needs
