A corner grocery with quality goods.

In Store
Perhaps it's the size that takes this grocery store to the next level. Rather than having to traverse miles and miles of aisles, shoppers use scaled down carts to cruise short aisles stocked with all the necessities and then some. Meat is custom cut; beef is prime and aged. More expensive than Schnucks, but worth it. The seafood counter has live lobsters, tuna steaks, shrimp and salmon. Find good canned lump crab, plus a temptation of olive oils and balsamic vinegars. The jam aisle carries cottage industry jam, the condiments aisle has a similarly unique selection. A new deli in the rear of the store stocks ready-to-eat fare, from couscous salad to barbecue ribs. Roasting chickens spin slowly on a rotisserie. The cheese section is small but complete; you'll find Gruyere, real parmigiana-reggiano and brie. Fresh baked breads, pastries and tarts are available too. And look for Miss Hullings split cakes, on shelves just in front of the deli, for a bit of sweet nostalgia.
Picks
Given the store's size, the wine selection is a real blessing, taking up several aisles. Favorites like The Zin and La Cr?ma Chardonnay are almost always on the shelves.
