Would Like to Join Class Action Suit

I have had a similar experience with St. Louis Workout. I signed a contract with this gym for a 1-year membership. After 1 year, I chose to join Powerhouse, instead. However, St. Louis Workout continued to unknowingly bill me (as I do not frequently monitor my checking account, as I should).

After I realized that I was being billed, I inquired about the continued billing, but management was difficult to reach. When someone finally did respond, they sent me a FORGED copy of my contract, which included the same date, but, unlike my original copy (which I possess), this one included an agreement to continue bill via my checking account. St. Louis Workout warned me in their letter to reconsider my position on this matter. I have considered, & I would like to join forces with other victimes, so that this does not continue to happen to other members, & I can rightfully retrieve the money that they took from me.

STL Workout is ruining my life

I canceled my account in April 2008 per the terms in my contract for relocation. I moved back home for a little bit because of family issues. I would have kept my account suspended until I returned but the trainers were very unprofessional so I had to desire to return. At the corporate office, no one ever answered the phone or returned calls but I did finally talk to someone making sure I had all the items they needed to cancel and the guy said everything looks fine and thank you for checking back because most people don't. Well, apparently my account is still open. Actually, STL Workout sold my "debt" to collection in Dec 2008 and has been trying to collect $2135 from me which is 2 years worth of dues even though I had a 3 year contract of which I paid 1 year 5 months. I found all of this out because I couldn't book my yearly vacation because my credit cards are closing my accounts due to my credit score being jacked up for lack of better terms. It seems like from everything I've researched about this company lately, they have a reputation for scamming people out of as much money as possible and frankly ruining their lives. I was supposed to buy a house with my fiance and we were going to try to take advantage of the tax incentive, but now that this has happened, no house, wedding's on hold, I'm stressed out and depressed. This club is absolutely fantastic!

I can't ask for anything more. St louis workout has moved and now the CHASE PARK PLAZA owns Sante. The cycling classes are amazing and every yoga class is fantastic!

VERY CLEAN, I like taking showers here with all of the Aveda products. They even have robes!!

I love this place. Best part of my day!

They're gonna get your money, dude, just step inside!!

Like dozens of other people here I got a bad deal with an annual membership at St Louis Workout. After six month I moved to Nashville and couldn't get the refund for half of the time I still had there. No matter what is in your contract, they're not going to give your money back.

The owner first said he had already sent the envelope with the check, but I never got it. Then he sent an EMPTY envelope, but as I had to sign at the USPS to get it he said he had the proof I got it, my signature, even though the envelope was empty. I'm still fighting with them to get my money and guess what? They just tried to steal money charging my debit card!!!!! They got the number and just charged it, like this!!!!

I filled I claim in my bank and they're forced to give it back to me. And all this scam happened 6 month after I left St Louis!!!

Men, these guys are dangerous. The owner is always hidden behind the contract and he is also threatening me saying I got the money and he is going to suit me!!!

Beware of these dogs, they don't deserve one dime from you...

Getting your money is their expertise!! Be Careful!

You can trust St. Louis Workout to do everything possible to get your money. They are worse than an auto-renew website. Forget trying to cancel anything with them. I prepaid a year's membership and was injured in the free first session with a personal trainer. Not realizing what had happened, I signed up the same day for 10 sessions with the then-head trainer. A few days later at my first paid appointment I told them that my back had been hurt and I couldn't do the training. They tried to switch me to a trainer I had never seen before and refused to give me my money back. After six months of physical therapy and fighting with them, they were still able to keep everything had paid. The partners in this business are real pieces of work and well-practiced at winning battles. I am filing suit against them next week.

I don't trust this company's business practices. They give you a super-hard sell and then try to get you to pay for a year in advance. When I attempted to cancel my membership in writing by sending them a signed letter, they called and said that I'd have to come in to fill out a special form in person.

The Chase Park Plaza owns, operates, completely renovated the gym.

it's awesome, great place, like working out at a resort.

SANTE at The Chase occupies the old St. Louis Workout Spot!

CORRECTION!!

This address is no longer occupied by St. Louis workout, which agreed, was not desirable!

Sante Fitness and Wellness took over, and is dramatically different. In the lower level in the Chase, the club no longer feels like a "gym" gym... more like a private exclusive club! (but it's not).

I've been a member since February since they re-opened after a COMPLETE renovation. You must really see it to experience how beautiful and peaceful, and welcoming the new atmosphere is.

The locker rooms are AMAZING... I could relax in there all day! With towel service, smoothies and personal trainers that REALLY CARE, I feel like they're catering just to me, EVERY time.

Just to clear up, Sante is NOT St. Louis Workout, and is WONDERFUL. All I can say is go try it for yourself :)

Oh... and everyone there knows me by name!

Avoid this gym at all costs.

This gym needs to go out of business. I signed up for a two year prepaid membership which I was told would cancel after it ended. I confirmed this with the front desk at the Union location a month and a half prior to the end of my membership. I then get a call two months later from a collection agency. Please keep in mind this is a first in my life. The agency informs me rudely that I have a debt due to St. Louis Workout and that this would be placed on my credit record. They claim St Louis Workout tried to contact me by phone and by letter. Both untrue as I joined with a friend that had also received neither a call or a letter. I tell them all the facts of the case and they proceed stating that I have signed a contract with them. I ask them to send me a copy and I still haven't received it a week later. I then call the owner of the company and leave a message. He called back and I explain what happened. He quickly disregards my statements even when I tell him I haven't been in his gym in over 3 months. He then proceeds to discredit my position telling me that my membership will be renewed until I pay the two months owed and cancel with a letter to him. This is a rude corrupt invididual running a scam on its members that doesn't understand anything about customer service. I am contacting a lawyer.

Sante Fitness is Beautiful

Sante Fitness is a beautiful club, hard to believe you're in a health club. Equipment is spotless, the staff is extremely helpful. I decided to return twice in one day to visit a sunset yoga class on the 11th floor balcony, and the staff offered to launder my workout clothes...WOW.

Best gym I've ever beloned to.

I recently moved to St. Louis to attend Washington University. I was pleased to find St. Louis Workout. The atmosphere of the gym is very comfortable and upscale. They have a great variety of fitness machines for wieght training and cardio training. I especially like the diversity of the group fitness schedule. I've tried the yoga, pilates, bootcamp, and zumba classes and they all have had excellent instructors. I was also amazed by how cheap it is only $29/mo. and no long term contract. I read some of the negative reviews on this site and that has not been by experience at all. Maybe the place is under new managemnt or something. Who knows, but I would recommend any of my friends or family to this gym.
