Famous for hot salami

by 1bad19d

Yes lines are long, plan accordingly, seating is limited, but I wouldn't describe it as shabby and the workers there are friendly and rock out as many hot salamis as come their way...just a fan sticking up for this GREAT deli. P.S. Tuna and lasagna are great. Try everything, nothing is disappointing.

Best Deli!!!

by MUtigerfan

Delicious soups and sandwiches, and you always get more than you pay for. A quick, easy stop during weekday lunch breaks and a great casual spot for Saturday errand days too. Love it!

  • Pros: Delicious and Filling

Super subs!

by brit1

Husband introduced me to this place during a recent visit to his parents. He used to eat there practically every day when he worked in downtown StL. Ok, so the place is pretty shabby, there are ridiculously long waits at lunchtime, seating is woefully inadequate, and the service is neither the friendliest nor the quickest ever, but the subs are to die for. The salami is sooooo tasty, and their Italian dressing is really different and totally delicious. We always make a point of going to Gioia's when we're in the area.

  • Pros: Delicious subs, Reasonable price
  • Cons: Parking, Inadequate seating
