Only real kickboxing school in St. Louis
by stlboxer at Citysearch
I've tried other gyms, but Finney's is the ONLY place to learn real kickboxing in St. Louis. Real competitive fighters teach all the classes and beginners train in the same ways that the team does. This is not some karate-come-kickboxing thing like pretty much everywehere else... this is the real deal. Whether you want to just get in awesome shape and learn how to throw punches the right way, or if you want to get in the ring and compete with the top fighters from around the country... this is the ONLY place to do it.

I just started at this gym and love it. They have a cage for training! The classes are great conditioning and a great workout. I received a month free when I joined which no other place owuld offer me. Check it out you will not be let down.
To tell you how good it is in words is not enough but I'll try

First Class - always delivers the best to his clients. Knows how to treat people right. Constantly motivating. Fun group to be part of. I don't fight but I don't need to. The calisthenic exercise alone may knock you out. I've never had so much fun and train so hard and feel so good as when I left one of Finney's instructional classes. He's part of St. Louis Workout which is equally wonderful. Highly recommended!!!! People travel from all over the midwest to workout at this place. I'm not kidding. Try it and you will know why!
- Pros: Only as intense as you want it to be. Very Instructional
- Cons: There is only one place like it in St. Louis
The Real Real About Finney's kickboxing Gym
by tlight at Citysearch
If you are a novice fighter this is the only place in St louis that I know of. If you are a real fighter this is the only place in St. Louis too. Overall, Finney's is a very good gym--but is not the only good gym in the country. The coach seems respectable and he seems to know how to box/kickbox. There are some problems. There were many good fighters, but many were still novice fighters thinking they were advanced. Further, many of the fighters gave the impression that Finney's is the only place someone could possibly learn how to fight. This is just ignorant Also, when someone is a new fighter the other fighters should let him/her be for a while. Also, the gym is very small, especially when there is over ten fighters in the gym. Again, Finney's is an overall good gym that needs some improvements.
- Pros: Good coach, Good hours, Serious fighting
- Cons: Pushy fighters, Small gym, Expensive
