Went on a jam-packed Saturday and had great service and food. Spring Menu is great. Enjoyed the smoked New York Strip and had the Bread Pudding (of course) for dessert. Great Wine List. I always recommend Harvest to others visiting St. Louis. By the looks of their business, I am in good company.
Pros: Chef works the dining room and checks in on you

Harvest is a great restaurant. It is one of the city's best although I haven't been as much since Andy White jumped ship. I have not tried the Spa menu but have heard tasty things. The bread pudding is amazing. But I must call out the owner, Stephen Gontram, on his inability to allow anyone to write a bad review about his restaurant. See the most recent 4 reviews before this one. After frankricardo3400 wrote a negative review, Stephen followed with a positive review (acting as a customer named beanfreeman - the names of his dogs Bean and Freebie), then his Mother wrote a positive review (Gardenfreak), then his Mother's boyfriend (Mark S.), and his Mother's friend Gail (Reillysophie) both added additional glowing reviews. Anytime a bad review is written on any restaurant review site, Stephen sends out an email to solicit positive reviews from family and friends. Sad, isn't it? How are Citysearch readers supposed to believe the reviews they read if the owner and his Mom and friends are writing all of the positive reviews!!

I was thrilled with the selections and delicious flavors of the spa menu offered at Harvest. Such a treat to have fresh, flavorful, healthy choices that were as delicious and satisfying as the other selections on the menu. Always thrilled with the outstanding dinners at Harvest- and now with this new dimension- fabulous.
Pros: Delicious food
Cons: none

Spent two evenings here during a five day trip to St. Louis and wonderful both times. (The first was so good, we had to return for a second dinner). The service was friendly and always attentive to our needs. The sea bass entree was some of the best seafood I have eaten anywhere. Steak the second night was just as good. Everything just great. Certainly will return on my next trip to St. Louis.

What a lovely evening we spent at this wonderful , wonderful restaurant. We were in town visiting friends, who (thank God!) suggested that we try Harvest for dinner. They are big fans and we certainly understand why......we live on the west coast, where we enjoy a multitude of great and innovative restaurants, but they have nothing on this one!! The staff was most accommodating, without "hovering", very "wine savvy" and suggested a perfect sauvignon blanc to begin our dinner.......We were pleased to meet the owner, Steve, who was an absolute delight....familiar with our environs and we loved chatting with him! I enjoyed the Vegetable Lasagna from the Spa Menu, while my friend raved about the Lamb (I did have a bit.....cooked perfectly and just oh-so-yummy!) The Corn Bisque shouldn't be missed and the Beet Salad is terrific! We took our time (as we are wont to do) and "dined".....never feeling rushed or hurried in any way. My friend had to order the Bread Pudding.....sinfully delicious...........cappucinos and coffee and we felt as though we surely had experienced St. Louis' Best Restaurant...........lucky folks, you!!

Wow, after reading the last 2 reviews, you folks must have been customers from hell. I've been going to harvest for 10 years, and the food and service is always top notch. Chef/Owner Steve is always attentive and willing to help out table in need, including special requests and dietary concerns. Someone mentioned a filet, but I know for a fact that Harvest never serves filets, and the steak they're known for (and happens to be served sliced) is their Hanger Steak...it is so good! I went last Friday and ordered off their new Spa Menu - I had Sole stuffed in banana leaves and steamed with lime, wonderful fennel encrusted scallops, and a dynomite bulger wheat salad...ALL fat free. I couldn't believe how full I was. Our server, Jenny, was a delight, and she made us feel right at home...we even got a beautiful wone recommendation from Stephen the owner...a wonderful night indeed. Ignorant posts by Applebee's-afficionados should NOT be used to evaluate a great restaurant like Harvest! PS - don't forget to order the Bread Pudding!

Sorry to say we had a completly awful experience at Harvest. Many people in our group ordered the filet and evidently they did not have enough meat in the back as we all got the meat cut into little chunks. Chefs trick was a little obvious. Additionally, the owner was rude to a young group that were sitting at a table near us. The tables were far too close together - we often bumped elbows with the couple next to us while eating.
Pros: Good bar.
Cons: Everything else.

We have never been to a restaurant that had worse customer service than Harvest. Our waiter was unattentive even when he was talking to us. The owner was rude, insulting, and actually threw the bill back at us after telling us he wouldn't take care of the situation and stormed off. The table next to us even agreed that he was unprofessional and that they couldn't believe how long it had taken to get our food. Tables all around were getting served even though they came in well after we did (and ordered after we did). All we received were excuses. One server told us that she could get us a "snack" while our food was being prepared since we waited so long. We didn't want a snack; we wanted our entree. The waiter and owner acknowledged that we waited a very long time but refused to do anything about it. Having an owner of a restaurant physically throw a bill at you is so unprofessional. We paid our bill in full and left vowing we would never return. I encourage everyone to NOT eat at Harvest. There are hundreds of fantastic restaurants in St. Louis that offer top notch service and customer satisfaction. This is one sad example of yet another company not caring about it's customers.
Pros: none
Cons: poor service, bad food, bad parking

Harvest is the place t go if you want true local food and amazing flavor. i have travled around the US and i tell you it is hard to find great supurb food in the midwest for decent prices(mostly for the of fresh seafood). The food has grest fresh flavor, with a rustic feel. At harvest you can expect housemade sauces, desserts, and pretty much everything. No shortcuts here. Ita a wonderful dining experience. The service is friendly and informative. I highly recommeded.
Pros: both food and service excellent
