User Reviews for Salon St Louis

I just came from Salon St Louis after having a bad experience elsewhere and Shanna B did a wonderful job by totally understanding what wanted. She listened to my concerns and gave me great service. The salon was nice and I found everyone there to be friendly, not snobby at all like some other reviews indicated. The price was completely reasonable - especially considering I am happy! I have definetly found my new salon!!!
Pros: Service, parking, price
Cons: none!

I had been going to Salon St. Louis regularly for over a year before moving out of the Midwest. I lived in Chicago and waited until I went to St. Louis to get my hair cut. Shauna cut my hair and she was always extremely friendly and professional, and I loved my cuts. I was always able to get in when I wanted, which was always a limited time space. I don't understand why people are complaining about the price. I have rarely found a haircut for under $35 anywhere else- including in the mountains of North Carolina- but then to add in the scalp massage, paraffin dip and complimentary crisping, it is by far the best deal around. I would recommend Salon St. Louis to anyone.
Pros: Best salon "extras" anywhere

I have been going to this salon for eight months always to the same person JO and she is wonderful. I have read the other reviews and I do not feel that staff is snobby or rude. The price for services are the norm for St.Louis. People need to stop complaining .
Pros: Parking crisping head and neck massage
Cons: non

I was VERY unhappy with the results of my one & only visit to this "salon". I did try to get satisfaction during my appointment (very unhappy with the color-the cut was just so-so); their response was to turn me this way & that, trying to convince me that it was ok. First of all, it was NOT ok, and secondly, services should be done to the customer's satisfaction, not to the salon's! They were pretentious, and gossipy between themselves. Furthermore, I felt as if I were in a "beauty college" with an intern, since several times the owner & manager hovered about making comments on the process. In a follow-up survey card that was mailed to my home, I was very specific about my complaints, but never heard from them again. So much for company surveys, and customer satisfaction.
Cons: Pretentious, Don't Listen, Don't Care

I went to this salon for two years and went through four sylists. Every other appointment I made I was handed off to a new stylist because they'd gotten rid of the last one. I could never develop any kind of rapport or relationship with a stylist because she inevitably left. I finally left the salon for good, very fed up.
Pros: Variety of products
Cons: High turnover, Expensive

I've been going to this salon for over a year. When I moved here from Chicago - I thought I'd never find a place to cut my hair correctly. I did - Jessica!!! She's the BEST. The Salon is getting an attitute and trying to put on a snob act. They need to drop that!!!! Also, since I've been going the cost of a cut went from $26 to $36 in maybe 14 months....where am I - oh, St. Louis, not Chiago or New york.....
Pros: great cut, appt. on time, parking good
Cons: snob at front desk, non-flexable, getting too pricey

I had great experiences at this salon for over a year until my stylist left. I was asked to come back for a special appointment with the owner and was told it was to be at my old stylist's price. A new employee shampooed my hair and was visibly nervous, but I didn't mind because I thought I was getting a discount. Then the owner and another stylist traded inside jokes about the mistakes that were being made trimming my hair (I would have said something, but didn't realize this until I got home, realized that the cut was different and replayed the situation in my mind). Finally, I was charged full price. When I argued with the girl at the register, she told me that she would have been told if there was a special price. Maybe I was the victim of an unfortunate set of circumstances.
Pros: atmosphere, scalp massage, friendly staff

I have only had GREAT experiences at this Salon. They were so helpful in suggesting a new look for me and offer the right products for what I wanted to do. All of the staff was very nice and the free parafin spa and scalp massage are the best. I've never been treated that good at another salon!
Pros: prompt, clean, individual service
Cons: expensive
