Not perfect, but pretty good by Steve K. at InsiderPages

We moved back to St Louis about 8 months ago. When we got here, we needed to board our cat for a couple weeks while we were in the hotel. She was treated quite well and we visited her almost every day. We never waited more than about 5 minutes and her little kitty condo was always clean.
We also have a 14-year old dog that we've brought in to see a vet. We've seen the same vet - Dr. Britt - every time. Of course, we've had to make sure to schedule our appointments to coincide with her schedule. She's been fantastic and thorough, and is genuinely concerned with her patients. I have yet to see a dirty exam room.
The waiting room can be a bit frantic and the voice mail system could be improved. But I've never been treated rudely over the phone or in person. I have to go in every month to pick up my dog's prescription and have waited at most 10 minutes before getting it. (I call in advance and deal with the voice mail.)
If you expect to waited on hand-and-foot with no waiting, this is not for you. Go to an animal hospital that's only open 9-5 M-F and has only one vet. But if you have a busy schedule like we do, this is a great place. The only people I've seen have problems in the waiting room though are the ones who cause it themselves.
Comments: If you are seeing different vets all the time, you have a responsibility to your pet. If your pet is dehydrated, it probably needs a fluid I.V. to rehydrate. Try and schedule the same vet, even if it means coming in when it's less convenient. And sometimes waiting can't be avoided. I've used five different AHs in my life. I've had to wait for over a half hour in an exam room with my pet at every one.

Every time that I have taken my dog to Webster Groves Animal Hospital the staff is friendly and willing to discuss any questions that I may have had. I feel that the late and very early appointment times make it very easy to get my animal seen without having to miss work. I will say that when my dog was very sick with blood disorder the doctor was somewhat evasive with what testing needing to be done and not done and this upset my husband. This is why I gave 4 stars rather than 5.

Dr. Britt has been a blessing to our german sheperds. She was the one who was able to diagnose Scout as have EPI, and provide a treatment approach to manage it consistently. The hours that you provide has given us the opportunity to avoid missing work, while still seeing that our pets get excellent healthcare.
Outstanding vet office

My wife and I started bringing our gang of dogs here 4 years ago because of their vaccine prices. When our Rusty dog got sick we had him in the hospital with them for 4 days. Unlike other hospitals in the area they have someone there with the pets 24 hours a day - they are not left alone for hours at a time at night. This gave us a lot of peace of mind. We knew that Rusty was getting the best care possible. He pulled through and is doing very well now. We recommend this hospital to everyone we know that has pets. You simply can't go wrong with Webster Groves Animal Hospital! From their prices to the hours to the quality!!
- Pros: Hours, Price, Quality
Pet Lovers Beware!!
by MonroeAve at Citysearch
This place presents itself as a premier emergency care facility, but really it is just a regular vet's office with longer office hours and under-trained and inexperienced vets servicing pets with health concerns beyond WGAH's expertise. They exterminated the love of my life's favorite pet by knee-jerking the wrong treatment and then not taking appropriate emergency action until it was too late except to have the poor dog suffer for another couple days. Then they compound the error by insisting that we pay for the pleasure of their killing of her best friend and advise that an autopsy is unnecessary and redundant to their findings. I have worked for a (ethical and professional) vet who said that not only would he have done a complete autopsy at no charge, but that he would have remitted all charges upon the killing of a healthy, happy two-year old beautiful dog. If you want to take your pet to a vet factory for regular checkups, WGAH may be fine, but if you want emergency care for a member of your family, go to Kirkwood Animal Hospital or any of the number of specialist vets who will keep emergency office hours. Please, for Lucy's sake!
- Pros: Long hours open
- Cons: Inefficient, marginally competent, uncaring
Dr. Weltig is a genius when it comes to reptiles
by reptilefriend at Citysearch
We took our lizards to see Dr. Weltig and both he and his assistant helped us so much! I haven't met a vet that knows as much as him! And the assistant handled our lizards with the ease of a pro! They spent a lot of time talking to us to get an idea of our set up at home. They suggested a few changes in their environment and the doctor suggested that I run tests on my lizard that my old vet never suggested. We couldn't be happier! For top quality reptile care, you gotta see Dr. Weltig!
- Pros: Dr. Weltig is a genius with exotics
- Cons: none
Our family vet
by labdogs at Citysearch
We started taking our first lab here when she was a puppy. now our family has grown to three labs. We have two black, one chocolate. They go here every year for their annual exam and shots. They see one primary vet and have seen 2 others there when seh was out of town. We have liked all the vets we have seen.
This vet seems to really care abotu our dogs and even convinced us to try something to help thier hips - and it did! We give our dogs cosequin every day and they get around so much better.
We have always recommended this vet to our friends and family and now I recommend it to you!
- Pros: Caring, price, hours,
- Cons: none

OPEN ON THE 4TH OF JULY!! Thanks guys, you were a life saver! I don't know what my family would have done without you. Today our beloved pug Otis threw up all over the kitchen. Our vet was closed and we went to Webster groves animal hospital. They saw us without an appointment and gave Otis some medicine and he is so much better now! We will switch all our four legged babies over to you. You won our trust!
- Pros: OPEN ON THE FORTH OF JULY!!!!
- Cons: no
Great Vet
by lucyedwards1965 at Citysearch
We started taking our little LuLu to Webster Groves Animal Hospital 13 years ago. At that time she was a little puppy. They have seen her through her old age and we are so grateful for all the care you have given her! We will never forget that late night a few years ago when we had to rush her in for an emergency - you guys were there and helped her pull through!
Now our family has grown to include two new kittens. They sure keep LuLu busy! We will bring our two new additions in to see you soon - we can't wait for them to meet their vet!
- Pros: Caring, Late hours, Good Prices
- Cons: none that i can think of
Great vets, front desk not so good
by abylover2 at Citysearch
I have taken my cats here for thirty years, starting back when Dr. Love was in a little house made over into a vet's office. The care we have received when seeing the doctors has been top notch.
The office staff leaves a lot to be desired. They don't pick up the phone until it has rung many times. Then you are placed on hold so long you think you've been forgotten. Once when I showed up and signed in for the apt., the receptionist came over and got someone else, but crossed off my name from the list. It was thirty minutes before I found out that they thought my cat and I had already been seen.
Getting an appoinment with my preferred doctor takes a minimum of three weeks. It is very frustrating.
- Pros: Like the veterinarians
- Cons: Hate interacting with the office staff
Top notch veterinary hospital!!
by madchemist1974 at Citysearch
My family and I started taking our puppy to Webster Groves Animal Hospital a few years ago based on numerous recommendations from family and friends. We have had nothing but a pleasant experience there!!
To my family they offered a much better option than the emergency clinic in St. Louis. We had to take our cat in there 5 years ago and it was a horrible experience! Not only did our cat die but the bill was outrageous and the staff very uncaring. Not so at Webster Groves Animal Hospital! Their pries are very fair and the staff has always taken such good care of our babies!
They have vaccination packages that we get every year - a basic one for our young Sparky dog and one that includes bloodwok for our older Sady dog. The vet always does a good exam and lets us know if there is anything wrong that we were unaware of. The vet also answers all of our questions (which we write out ahead of time so this can last awhile).
Keep up the good work - my family always recommends you!!
- Pros: Caring, Hours, price
- Cons: none
