This has always been a fun place to visit, inside and out. Beautiful natural hiking trails. A well trained staff to answer your questions, and interesting sites abound.

Want to stroll in the country without leaving the comforts of St. Louis?

by Contributor at Citysearch

Getting There
Powder Valley sits a half-mile from one of the busiest highway intersections in the state, the I-44 and I-270 interchange. To get to it, you have get off I-44 at Geyer, then make the angled-back left onto Cragwold and follow the long winding road until you're parallel to I-270. You'll find a lot of city types getting lost along the way.

What You'll Find
Three hiking trails are all good for the novice; they're paved, so you can wear your street shoes, and they start from the parking lot. You'll even find rural folks here, likely drawn in by the Nature Center, which is first-rate and offers excellent displays daily.
