It was like 7:15pm on a Friday night and I was about to go out of town and my hair looked a mess! So I was driving around frantically looking for a salon that was still open and didnt have a wait. I almost gace up when I drove by Performance and gave it a try. I thought they'd turn me away at the door cuz it was so late on a Friday, but they were so gracious and welcomed me in with no problem. There was only two stylists left and the girl I was assigned to was pregnant and probably dying to get home but did my hair with no hesitation! She was very sure to pick the formula to color my hair that would be the least damaging since my hair had been thru so much during a previous lenghthy lightening process. She did an OUTSTANDING job two-tone coloring my hair and did a hot little bob cut to top it all off. I left there feeling like a million bucks and very happy with their services. I highly recommend the salon to anyone!

I recently moved to the south county area from Florissant and was on the search for a new salon to go to. I found Performance using citysearch, read the reviews, and thought I would give it a try. It was well worth it!! My stylist's name was Juli, and she was terrific!! I got brown & blond foils in my hair, kind of chunky ones, all over. A few blond chunks in the front came out looking a little yellow, so she toned them down until they achieved the more subtle blond color I was anticipating. She recommended styling products for my hair type (which is pretty much FRIZZY, I straighten all the time) and tips on how to keep it looking healthy. She was so helpful. I know when I go to get my hair done, I'm always going to be spending a little bit of money for good service. This salon was worth the money. They are moderately priced, similar to what I was used to paying at the Florissant salons. I would definitely reccommend it!! And if you are getting foils, ask for Juli.

I'd read the other reviews for Performance and decided to give it a try. I phoned and made an appointment, telling the receptionist the truth, that I'm picky about my hair color. She was very polite and professional and asked if it would be okay if she got the stylist in mind on the phone to speak with me directly. Of course! The very polite stylist , Rachel, said she LOVED customers who were "selective" and she'd be able to see me the next evening. She said, "I'll make it my last appointment of the day and will work until I get it right and (you're) happy." Yay! I told her of my last experience right after my Mother had passed away. (It was a nearby salon with an insensitive stylist , who was obviously burned out after styling hair for 25 years.) Rachel was great. She was a cute little thing with funky-colored hair and a hip outfit. I thought to myself, "I bet she knows what she's doing"...and she did. She nailed the color and fixed some leftover color errors from the last two stylists I had. Even though she had an emergency customer, later scheduled during my appointment, I didn't notice a wait as she had another stylist, tall with short red-hair who was also very nice, shampoo my hair. As I was leaving, Rachel hugged me good-bye. She's a genuinely sweet person. Here's something unusual in the industry, the stylists actually get along, but are not "chummy" and unprofessional. They seem to know that they are there for the customers's sake and they make each customer feel welcome. When I was under the dryer, I asked the lady next to me how long she'd been coming there, 10 years. That says a lot. I will definitely return.

Pros: large clean salon with retail area, free coffee, a nice receptionist, & friendly atmosphere

I can not tell you enough what a great job they did on my hair. I have been going to really expensive places and when my friends told me about Performance I called up and made my next appointment. She took her time, was very polite and helpful. But the best of all was she did my hair the way I wanted. I look great and my husband even noticed the color was shiny and very healthy looking. Thank you so much!! Keep up the great work your doing. Your place is very nice. Lisa

My husband, three children and I have been going to Performance Salon for 10 years now. If you are looking for a wonderful place to have your hair cut, foiled or anyone of their other services, then I highly recommend Performance. They have a very warm and friendly environment. My stylist is the owner and she and her staff are the greatest. I truely feel like family. Enjoy !!

I had a wedding party of 12 and the staff at Performance Salon were wonderful. Our hair was fantastic and stayed in place all day and into the late hours. Our makeup was done very tastefully and professionally. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the salon. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. They really cared about making my wedding special. Thanks Mervat for doing such an assume job with my updo. Yeah !! John loved it and so did all my guest. I highly recommend your salon.

I had the Escape Package which includes massage, facial, haircut & style, lunch with wine, makeup, gift bag. Massage was fantastic! Very skilled therapist. Facial was nice. Disappointed in the massage room. More or less a closet in the back of the salon. Very noisy and busy place. Luckily, closing the massage room door blocked most of the noise. Hair was trimmed & blown dry but not styled. My hair looked like a limp rag when it was finished. Lunch was good but they placed me in a shampoo chair with a tray for my lunch. Very uncomfortable eating my lunch in front of people having their hair shampooed. I had to ask for my glass of wine. The makeup application was fine. I had to ask for my gift bag upon leaving. Staff was great. It was more of a salon instead of a spa.

Pros: friendly staff, skilled staff, attentative

Cons: crowded and busy, not really spa style, lack of spa space
