I'd read the other reviews for Performance and decided to give it a try. I phoned and made an appointment, telling the receptionist the truth, that I'm picky about my hair color. She was very polite and professional and asked if it would be okay if she got the stylist in mind on the phone to speak with me directly. Of course! The very polite stylist , Rachel, said she LOVED customers who were "selective" and she'd be able to see me the next evening. She said, "I'll make it my last appointment of the day and will work until I get it right and (you're) happy." Yay! I told her of my last experience right after my Mother had passed away. (It was a nearby salon with an insensitive stylist , who was obviously burned out after styling hair for 25 years.) Rachel was great. She was a cute little thing with funky-colored hair and a hip outfit. I thought to myself, "I bet she knows what she's doing"...and she did. She nailed the color and fixed some leftover color errors from the last two stylists I had. Even though she had an emergency customer, later scheduled during my appointment, I didn't notice a wait as she had another stylist, tall with short red-hair who was also very nice, shampoo my hair. As I was leaving, Rachel hugged me good-bye. She's a genuinely sweet person. Here's something unusual in the industry, the stylists actually get along, but are not "chummy" and unprofessional. They seem to know that they are there for the customers's sake and they make each customer feel welcome. When I was under the dryer, I asked the lady next to me how long she'd been coming there, 10 years. That says a lot. I will definitely return.
Pros: large clean salon with retail area, free coffee, a nice receptionist, & friendly atmosphere
