Refuses to take certain breeds!
by sarahp3 at Citysearch
I was trying to board my 2 dogs for my wedding. We have a Husky mix and a Lab retriever mix which i stated slightly resembles a PitBull, but she is extremely gentle and has been properly trained. The woman on the phone said they refuse to board dogs that even slightly resemble a PitBull. I find this extremely wrong. How can you refuse to board certain breeds? I would never recommend this facility to anyone!
Zues Misses Kennelwood
by catfish09 at Citysearch
I brought my Lab Zues to Kennelwood in South St. Louis County for about four years. I recently was required to move to Denver for my job. I have been here for about 6 months and still have not found any place for Zues that compares to Kennelwood. They took such great care of him and he loved every second of being there. Kennelwood really was Zues' home away from home.
Take your dog to KENNELWOOD!
by KarenElwood at Citysearch
This place is great. It was so easy to set up my dog's grooming apointment on the phone. When I arrived the morning of the appointment the girl that took the instructions for the hair cut was so professional and friendly. I have been to several other grooming and boarding places in St. Louis and have not found anyone like Kennelwood. My dog's haircut was exactly what I wanted and he smelled so good and the scent lasted for about three days. I would tell anyone to take their dog or cat there.
- Pros: EVERYTHING
- Cons: NOTHING
Kennelwood's Day Camp Program IS GREAT!
by Ponchodrew at Citysearch
Kennelwood is great place. Lately, I have been working alot and have not had the time to give my dog the love, exercise and attention he needs. I was feeling very guilty about this until I discovered Kennelwood and their day camp program. Now I can drop my dog off in the morning at Kennelwood before I go into work and feel happy that my dog will get the care and exercise he needs . When I pick up my dog at the end of the day he is happy and exhausted. I am very happy Kennelwood provided a solution to my problem.
If you love your dog, take them ANYWHERE else
by puppeeluv at Citysearch
This place is awful. I used to work here, but after I saw dogs being beaten, smacked and yelled at, I had to quit. Employees are allowed to do whatever they want, including smoking, getting drunk, talking on cell phones and joking about clients right in front of them. it is horrible.
This place should be shut down.
Your dog is better off in a box on the side of the highway.
- Pros: NOTHING
- Cons: horrible management, terrible service
Not happy AT ALL
by Saprize at Citysearch
When we dropped off our dog ( a gentle giant and very sweet, but happy and wiggly sometimes) it all seemed like a great place. We also were told by friends it's a nice place, but that's only on the outside. We boarded our dog for only 2 nights and when we picked him up we've noticed a raw sore on his back paw and the other one was close to the same, but not quite as bad. I went back inside and asked, but apparently nothing they knew of..whatsoever. They said right away if it needs to be treated they'll pay for it and I thought it was quite interesting they just said that as if it's no big deal. The manager didn't show any symphathy AT ALL for it. Also, his bottom teeth were covered in some dark brown goo which I only remember him having after he has been knocked out for his neuter. He was very thirsty AND HUNGRY (he never eats in the car, but he just gobbled down his food I offered him). When we got home he had to potty like a waterfall and his stool was rock hard like when he holds it for quite a while (more than a day). I don't know how they treated my dog, but I will surely NEVER go there again and would not recommend it at all! He's just laying around at home and doesn't seem as happy anymore which really upsets me, but we'll surely get him back to normal with lots of TLC which was obvioulsy missing at that place.
