Food mediocre and service was weak

I was not impressed. We waited forever to get in and then waited for service and food. The place is really run down.
- Pros: Not many
- Cons: Not very clean

The south county version of the Kingshighway classic.

The Scene
Far less crowded and smoky than its south St. Louis counterpart, this Uncle Bill's may not be a late-night destination, but it's just right during daylight hours. You won't have to endure the wait, attitude or hurried pace that are the norm on Kingshighway. Here, you can sip coffee with your grandparents for an hour after Sunday morning services or before heading over to Jefferson Barracks. The convivial waitstaff will fill your mug and chat amicably for as long as you like.
The Food
The atmosphere may differ between locations, but the menu doesn't. All your favorites are here, including the fruit-smothered pancakes, Belgian waffles, crepes, bacon, sausage and ham. For a breakfast that's more like a dessert, try the chocolate Alaska, a generous scoop of ice cream laced with hot fudge perched atop chubby pancakes. The comely sour cream-filled crepes are also a sweet treat.
I am so sorry Me and my girl ever went..

Well in the city the one off if kingshighway was a less than stellar experience that I do not think I will repeat anytime soon.
I think a common steak and shake can do better than these people could.. We get our bill and there is a $2.16 charge on there that neither me or my girl knew nothing about. Come to find out when we get to the register that they add the 15% gratuity to the bill automatically!! I was not informed about it prior to the dining experience. Had I known that I would not have worried about the tip. The food was not bad and the coffee was good. After how she rushed us and everything else.
I definatley will not return..
Just like in the men's warehouse when I say I am not going to return

You don;t get what you don't pay for!

Unclude Bill's is CHEAP. And so is the quality of the food you get.
Thus, you shouldn't go there for a "fine dining expereience"; it's more like a throwback to the diner age. If you're in the mood for breakfast at 7:30 PM (or 3AM), then this may be the place for you.
Unfortunately, it's gone downhill in the last 1/2 year or so (at least the west county location on Manchester has). So we've abandonned it for the local IHOP.
- Pros: cheap, good pancakes
- Cons: low quality, smoky
The House of The William
by acaruso
The only Uncle Bill's worth eating at are the ones in South County and on Kingshighway. The other one(s) are NO GOOD. The food is reasonably inexpensive, and you may meet "The William" (as 'Uncle Bill' calls himself -- he's Korean.) Anyway, don't go expecting anything other than a halfway decent diner-style restaurant. On a weekend at late-night, expect alot of drunks. The colorfulness of the city is all too evident. ALSO -- they automatically tack on a 15% gratuity after 10PM, so don't expect anything special in the way of service after that hour.
- Pros: Inexpensive, Good Parking, Greasy
- Cons: Drunks, Bad Service at times
don't eat at uncles bill
by samfish
I ate at the uncle bills on manchester the service was terrible, and the food was worse I ordered the basic breakfst. 2 eggs over easy sauage hash browns and toast. The eggs and suasage was overdone the toast was hardly toasted and the hash browns were not done.

i have never enjoyed the food at uncle bills, the gravy is too fake, the pancakes too thick and cakey and the service is not all that great either
WORST SERVICE EVER!
by illumined
I just visited Uncle Bill's Pancake House, and I must say it was the worst service I've ever received. I've received better service and hospitality from Denny's and Steak n' Shake.
The waitress was very rude and served others that came in after us before we were served. Our food was not only brought out at room temperature, but our orders were wrong and we had to ask several times to get them right. We also had to ask several times for refills on coffee (which we were charged full price for).
The host was also incredibly rude to us, and could really use a lesson in people skills. If you plan to visit the St. Louis area, I don't recommend the 4000 Lemay Ferry location as a dining choice.
- Pros: Inexpensive, Good Parking, Lots of seating
- Cons: Rude, Cold food, Slow service
