everywhere i go i get stopped by multiple people to ask where i get my artwork done. they are *always* asking about the pieces done by Iron Age. crazy detailed, beautiful work. the shop is immaculate. i will never go anywhere else in saint louis for a tattoo. the second question is usually how much did i pay in comparison to other places... you get what you pay for obviously! you don't compare applebees to the best restaurant in town. piercings are done by artists doing it for years - at least. huge jewelry selection, and willing to do custom orders if you are looking for something they don't have.

Pros: best artists. very clean. friendly

I have gotten two tattoos and a piercing at Ironage and had looked at them as being a premier tattoo shop in the St. Louis area. The tattoo shop of my choice. Upon my third visit for a tattoo that was not the case at all. I was quoted an outrageous price of more than I had paid for in the past for something very small. The tattoo I wanted probably would have taken about 20 minutes at the most. The person who quoted me the price got defensive when I asked why the price was so high. All I know is that I will never patronize Ironage Tattoos anymore. What makes it so bad is that I went to Allstar Tattoo and he was very pleasant and quoted me a price of three times less than what I was quoted at Ironage. It's bad that people think because they have made a name for themselves they can get over on people who keep their business running. DON'T GO THERE PLEASE!!!!. They are not L.A or Miami Ink which I think they think they are.

Pros: GREAT AREA

Cons: INFLATING PRICES

I have three tattoos, all from Iron Age over the years. The first tattoo was a little over priced, but was good quality, the second was great quality and fairly priced, so of course I went back for my third there....by far the worst experience there being extremely overpriced, poor quality, rough (it was the most painful even though it was on the least sensitive area), and the artist was not friendly in any way. I will be going to another shop the next time around to find a more reasonable priced tattoo in a more friendly setting.

Pros: very clean

Cons: not reliable quality & very overpriced

I went in with an idea for a tattoo and came out with way more than expected. Brad Fink was my artist. He is extremely talented. He took my idea and created a custom piece that turns heads everywhere. If you want a exceptional tattoo, clean shop and friendly fun staff this is your place.

Pros: experienced artist

First, go somewhere else for your tattoos and piercings! I got a tattoo at Iron Age and I was treated like a number. It kinda felt like I was in a herd of cattle and one after the other being systematically branded. The guy who did my tattoo was rude and didn't even bother to greet me (he just stood there waiting for me to look over) or thank me for my business. I got the feeling he would have rather been somewhere else and he was just trying to get me in and out. I also feel they are way overpriced. I got NO aftercare information for my tattoo from the artist or the other employee who rang me up and signed me in, which to me seems very unprofessional. I was warned by a couple people not to go to Iron Age for tattoos or piercings. I really should have listened. But for a place that is voted number 1 in St. Louis, certain things are expected and none of my expectations were met. I was completely stunned by the whole experience and didn't speak up. I guess I was waiting for things to turn around but they didn't. A friend who came with me agreed the artist was rude and that the whole situation was unpleasant. I'm just glad he didn't screw up my tattoo, though he could have done a better job because it was a rather simple design.

Pros: Nice place

Cons: overpriced, air of arrogance

This place is too cool for school, with a rock star attitude and high prices. The artwork of some of these artisits are really great, but shop around and you'll find beautiful work at other shops (PORTFOLIO PORTFOLIO PORTFOLIO). Think about the memories you may want regarding your special piece of artwork and the expierence surrounding your piece!

I got a tat done here by one of the excellent staff and it was a great experience. They were very sanitary and professional. The price did not bother me because the work was well above and beyond my expectations. I would suggest making an appointment because the wait was a bit much, I guess it gives you time to consider the permanance of what you're about to do.

Pros: Clean, Professional, Helpful

I'm only 17, so when I went to get my piercing, my dad was very interested in the cleanliness and knowledge of the staff and he was thoroughly impressed. They showed him the auto-clav, used to clean the instruments, and let him watch while they set up to ensure cleanliness. They answered all my questions and have continued to be extremely helpful.

Pros: Clean!!, Good Location

Cons: Pricy

I went to get a tattoo done and they would not work with me on a design. Their piercings are overly priced, but a nice shop. Very good location, but I prefer other shops.

Pros: Good location, nice work, Good hours

Cons: hard to park, unfriendly, expensive
