Poor Customer Service

This was under my insurance companies 'preferred' shops list and I have been waiting for over a month to get my car repaired even after my insurance company had paid them. I still have yet to get my car back. I get no phone calls explaining the delay when one is noticed. I have been promised over 5 times that my car would be ready on a particular date only to call and find out it another week or a few more days! I do not recommend this shop to anyone.

Yeah, so I get friggin' t-boned and insurance has me take it here. Awesome place, the rental car was small - but it was fast and free, so who cares? My car was ready sooner than they said, and the price to fix it was low. I don't know about you, but I don't got lots of moneys so this was great. Best is my car is so sweet, I know I'm gonna get some chicks cuz it looks better than it did before the wreck!

• Cons: they give me my car back instead of some fancier car, ha!

Fast, honest

I took my car here because they were listed as preferred with my insurance company. These people were honest about the work needed. No run around, no nonsense, and they were quick. I was given a 5 day estimate for time needed, but my vehicle was ready in 3. I've taken my vehicle to them three times now, and it has been nothing but great service each time. This place won't rip you off like the others. They have a great Big Bend location too.

Will never go back - stay away!

I chose Central Auto based on location. I arranged for my visit 2 weeks in advance so all parts and materials would be in stock. They took my car and promised to have it fixed and ready to go in 3-4 days. 3-4 days turned into 3.5 weeks. Yes, three and a half weeks for a scratched bumper. They blamed the manufacturer for the delay in part and lied to me no less than 15 times when my car would be ready. (I started to keep a journal for potential litigation if they did not get their act together.) After week 2, I decided to do a nationwide internet search for the part. I found it within 10 minutes of searching. After I relayed this news to Central Auto Body, they magically had my car ready to go in 3 more days. The work they did was ok, however, I did notice a few scratches on my car that I believe were not there before I gave them the car. They fixed what needed to be fixed, but I believe they messed up other parts of the car not at all related to the damaged bumper. I am very very meticulous about my vehicle and I strongly feel they did damage other parts of my car not related at all to the bumper damage.

Best body shop/mechanic in St. Louis!

I've visited several body shops/mechanics in the area in the last decade, but the service I was given at Central was hands-down the best I've received in the area. They offer clean and on-site rental cars. The staff is always very pleasant and courteous toward me while my car is in their care. I've recommended Central Auto to a few friends over the years with great feedback from all.

Each time I've gone to Central, it's been nothing but fair prices and professional service. I'm never left waiting long for my car to return. Fast service, friendly staff, great prices, and great work on my car. They can expect my business for many years to come.

Awful experience

I had a totally different experince that the previous reviewer. This company was one of Allstate's "preferred" shops, but I would hate to see their "non-preferred" shops! They broke my visor clip so now my visor flaps around loose and they gouged their own brand new paint job. The worst part is I had to take in back 3 times and they still couldn't get it right. They kept saying everything was fixed but of course I would have to schedule another appointment because it wasn't fixed. I finally gave up because of the owner's attitude towards me. I had to call the Allstate rep because I had trouble getting the owner to return my calls. This was a terrible experience and I will never do business with this company again. Their work was sloppy and they really don't care if your car is put back together when you pick it up. My car had severe hail damage, and they did go a good job at fixing that, but they are not detail oriented in any way, shape or form. Very disappointing!

Best of the best!

Polite, competent, fair and curteous service & staff, I was happy to see that these professionals don't take advantage of women by overpricing or trickery. Going to Central was a breeze.

This is the only car place I've been to where I wasn't gawked at or ripped off at [ladies, you know what I mean] - so that made an experience that was a bit frightening [having a wrecked car] a lot easier because of their professionalism. You won't get the run around here. So no need to worry if you're female....what a breakthrough, eh?

The place is actually nice inside and out - not the usual grungy old creepy car place that you're used to. The office has nice chairs, and has a home-y feel.

They have rental cars available on call, and the prices aren't too bad for repairs or rentals. Plus my car looks gorgeous now! I got it back fixed and freshly cleaned. I'm telling everyone I know about this place.

Hopefully I'll never need their services again [knock on wood], but if I AM ever in another wreck, I'm going straight back there. Thanks so much Central!
